Default Blind Purchases Based on Strong Recommendations

What scents have you purchased based on strong recommendations
from Basenoters? Who got you so interested in a scent that you were
willing to take a risk on a blind purchase.

After numerous favorable comments by Mike_C, I broke down and bought
blind some Malle Vetiver Extraordinaire. It took me a while to acquire
a taste for it, but I do like it now.

Mike_C inspire me too - for buying Baladin de Nicolai (not blind though, but in Nicolai boutique I did know what to look for)
Also I bought Anvers, Tabac Blonde, La Nuit Paco Rabanne (after Luca Turin review), Iris Silver Mist, Arabie, Ambre Sultan, Silver Mountain Water, Vetiver and Tabarome (both) Creed, Sables and Vetiver Goutal...
I think I was infected by fellow Basenoters a lot of times...

Some of my favourite fragrances are blind buys influenced by the good folks here at Basenotes.
    -Guerlain Vetiver
    -Casran
    -Coriolan
... and soon Caron Pour Un Homme by Caron.

These days, I only blind sample. Figure it's easier and cheaper that way, and with samples running close to twenty clams for seven slams, depending on source, it makes doing the nonsensical sensible, and allows random and abandoned lust-fulfilling.

I haven't bought anything blind yet, but I did go on a quest for Ungaro III after reading some reviews. It took only one sniff for me to buy it ;D

My only blind buy was Caron's L'Anarchiste, only because I couldn't find it anywhere to try and I thought that the bottle looked cool enough that even if I didn't like it, it would be a nice conversation piece

The reviews tell me that it's unique and interesting, and I totally agree. I've tried it a few times and my opinion of it changes each time.

Heck, ALL my purchases(except for Creed's BdP and Agatha Brown's Conquest and Jade) have been "blind" as I'm a newbie and I will not go to a Mall. 99% of my purchases(hobby-wise--Bass fishing, scents, Cuban cigars) are all off of the net.

    Havana
    Burberry London.....
    Creed's OV
    Creed's TM
    Le Dandy
    Tam Dao
    Nobile
    Cuiron PH
    Santal Noble
    Mugler Cologne

    plus some decants.

    All winners.

Just because it happened to you doesn't make it interesting.

In theory, there is no difference between theory and practice. In practice, there is.

Back in summer Lanvin L'homme was mentioned often in a lavender thread and I spotted it so cheap on ebay that i couldn't resist the bind buy. I remains my best bang for the buck.

I just bought Ungaro III and Dunhill original solely based on the Basenotes buzz.

I recently got Azzaro Visit blind and love it, especially its longevity.

I also got Michael Kors blind (even though it's easy to sample and sniff out) and its my SOTD.

Considering your devil personalized picture, I a little surprised you hated this.
