Default An alternative to Boss Bottled please?

I'd like to give my fella some miniatures in his Christmas stocking, I would love to help him find something gorgeous. He's coming to the end of his Boss Bottled, and we've yet to find anything that he likes as much. I love Ormonde Jayne Isfahan on him, but he's not sure. He's not big on citrus, aniseed or patchouli, but does seem to like floral notes and sandalwood, and wore Lacoste Essential in the summer. He's got samples of Mugler Colgne and Bulgari PH, but seems to prefer something with a bit more weight for the cold weather. Samples that he quite liked but I wasn't so sure on were Joop Homme and Kenneth Cole Black for Her (I didn't read the For Her on the label, it smelled nice but not special). Stylewise he crosses traditional English (Thomas Pink, Aquascutum, Loakes) with Ralph Lauren and Banana Republic.

Is there any middle-ground between Boss Bottled and full-on floral? Thanks for reading.

Penhaligons Endymion is like a refined Boss Bottled. Also Gai Mattioli That's Amore is very similar. He should like them both.

I would try Geir if you get the chance, it sounds pretty close to what tou're looking for. It's a masculine floral, definitely has weight (and freshness at the same time), and I think he'll love it if he wears Boss Bottled.

Thank you! Penhaligon's mens Christmas sampler tin now on order (so many of them sounded interesting that I didn't think it would be fair to restrict his choice) and I'm trying to tracking down the others where possible. I've looked them all up in the directory and I think they'd be great. I really appreciate your help, ta!
ps I think the Penhaligons Ladies sampler set will also be gracing my credit card, as soon as they have it in stock again...

Thanks Roma, I'll see if I can track down miniatures. I like the sound of Memoire d'Homme particularly.
