    Default Not another Sandalwood thread...

I just got my trumpers samples and I was very excited to try trumper's take on sandalwood. When I tried it, my first impression was that it smelled like Obsession for Men. I have not smell Obsession in years so I'm not positive, but I looked up the notes and they seem to line up roughly. The "spice notes" is a little ambiguous, it could account for a lot of the similarity I'm smelling.

    Trumper Sandalwood:
Top Notes: Bergamot, Lemon, Lavender, Clary Sage, Spice Notes
MIddle Notes: White Jasmine, Carnation, Geranium, Rose
Base Notes: Sandalwood, Patchouli, Amber, Vanilla, Leather

    Obsession:
    Top Notes: Mandarin, Bergamot
MIddle Notes: Lavender, Myrrh, Sage, Clove, Nutmeg, Coriander.
Base Notes: Amber, Musk, Sandalwood, Vetiver, Patchouli.

I should mention that I fell asleep before the drydown of Sandalwood and I definately don't remember the drydown of Obsession, so I cannot account for the drydown at all. But the opening was similar and I didn't notice any major deviation over 2 or 3 hours. Am I way off the mark on this one?

I think Trumper's Sandalwood smells almost identical to Coco (Chanel)...
