French fragrance firm Inter Parfums SA has announced three major fragrance launches for 2006. Its leading fragrance brand, Burberry, will see the addition of a women’s fragrance in March and a men's counterpart set to launch in September—both under the Burberry London name. “We intend to generate 25% of our Burberry fragrance business with this duo in 2006,” Inter Parfums ceo Philippe Benacin explains to Cosmeticnews.com, “[For 2005], we have forecast sales of €130m with this brand,” he adds. IFF created the feminine juice, while Givaudan formulated the masculine scent. Fabien Baron signed the bottle.
In addition to these main launches, Burberry will propose a limited edition of Brit for Her in a bottle created by Baccarat to celebrate the 150th anniversary of the brand.
Inter Parfums will also launch a key women’s scent for Lanvin in September.
Also in the Inter Parfums pipeline for 2006 is a key women’s scent for Lanvin scheduled for September, and two men’s fragrances; one by ST Dupont, set for March, and another by Paul Smith due out during the year.
In other news, US-based parent company Inter Parfums Inc downgraded its guidance for the third quarter. “Due to a reassignment of certain sales from its third fiscal quarter to its fourth fiscal quarter, [Inter Parfums Inc] now expects sales to be approximately $75.5m for the third quarter of 2005 and approximately $207.9m for the nine months ended September 30, 2005,” the company said in a statement.
To my mind M.Mansons fragrance is the most interesting case in 2006 - at least thinking about first half of the year. I still don`t know which house will publish that scent, but should be something interesting indeed.
Can`t believe that Manson would put his name into some boring parfum...
