Thread: Hands down best fragrance?
"Follow your nose. It always knows." -- Toucan Sam
i love taste of fragrance but don't want to smell like peppers all day. i also love aramis bermuda tonic but don't want to smell tropical all day. i guess the ever safe bvlgari pour homme which i love and reach for often when i can't decide what to wear.
Mine is 4 Voleurs from L'Occitane.
Nothing else I've ever tried comes close to this long-lasting, versatile, amazing and captivating scent.
It is clean enough for office wear, yet interesting enough for evenings.
The citrus and herbs make it great for warm weather, but the cedar and cloves make it equally at home in the cooler months.
It wipes the floor with every other fragrance I've ever tried. I've got 2/3 of a bottle left, and I'm safeguarding the hell out of it.
GIT, Aventus and Pure Malt. Can't pick one.
Actually if I had a gun to my head and was told to pick one, I would go with Aventus.
The sense of smell, like a faithful counsellor, foretells its character.
My tastes change over time, but for now Costume National Scent Intense and NR For Him Musc Collection EDP.
Santal Noble +3
(also: Paco Rabanne PH vintage, Loewe Esencia and Guerlain Vetiver)
My Top '10' : (In no particular order)
- Dolce & Gabbana: Pour Homme (vintage)
- Acqua di Parma: Colonia Leather
- Chanel: Platinum Egoïste
- Davidoff: Leather Blend Edp
- Revillon: R
- MPG: Santal Noble
- Ferrari: Essence Oud
- Knize Ten
- YSL: Kouros (Fraîcheur)
- Dior: Aqua Fahrenheit
One of my absolute favorites and also one of the best (if not the best) I ever got to know is Armani Eau pour Homme
In this fall and winter I have been used Aventus most, but if I have to think "best" fragrances, my opinion leans to Chanel Egoiste, L'air du desert Marocain and Acqua di Parma Colonia.
Still, impossible to say only one, because it depends so much your mood, situation, season and so on.
My holy grail is Macassar by Rochas.
"Le parfum est la musique du corps"
Signature: Rochas Macassar (Nicolas Mamounas / Roger Pellegrino, 1980)
Current Top 7:
Chanel Antaeus (vtg) (Jaques Polge, 1981)
Terre d' Hermes EDT (2006-2009) (Jean-Claude Ellena, 2006)
Green Irish Tweed (Probably Oliver Creed / Pierre Bourdon, 1985)
Eau de Rochas Pour Homme (Gilles Romey, 1993)
Bleu de Chanel EDP (Jaques Polge, 2014)
Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme (vtg) (Max Gavary, 1994)
Chanel Allure Homme (vtg) (Jaques Polge, 1999)
Today I'd say vintage Eau d'Hermes, but not hands down.
Puredistance M, nothing even comes close IMO.

Xerjoff Casamorati 1888: Lira.
