Though it's a tough question, is there a hands down, best fragrance for you guys?

There is no such thing, just as there is no such thing as a perfect circle. In both cases, only the idea or notion of one exists (a perfect circle existing only as a mathematical theory, and we all know about the quest for the "holy grail" of fragrances).

    Yes. It's Kiton.
It's the most expensive EDT I ever paid for.
It's the most expensive aftershave splash I ever paid for.
It's the most expensive aftershave balm I ever paid for.
It's the smoothest, classiest scent I own.
It was instrumental in getting me the lady of my dreams.
My life would be very different now if not for Kiton.
It was worth every cent I paid for it.

But that doesn't mean I wear it all the time, I keep it for special occasions.

Toss up between Kouros and Kingdom

    Just kidding.

Toss up between Antaeus and The Third Man

    No, that isn't quite right.

Toss up between Piper Nigrum and Tabac Blond

    Can I redo that?

    Kouros. Period.

Vintage or New Tabarome? The Vintage is great, the New is just too much ginger for me.

My favorite hands down is Santal Noble.

No such thing as "best". "Best" is unique to the user. And as for me, it changes monthy ... sometimes weekly. This week it's Damien Bash's "Sin".

    Now favorite? That's another story.

    Hi all,

(Sniff...sniff..sniff...) Hey...Scentimus...what's that smell ? Could it be....hummmm....SARCASM (echo:SARcasm Sarcasm sarcasm)? LOL (at least I THINK you are trying to be sarcastic but...I dunno). At any rate...CREED new TABAROME is TRULY my OVERALL favorite fragrance (and has been for well over a year)! However...SMN "ACQUA DI CUBA" is a CLOSE second...and I mean VERY close! YSL "KOUROS" would most likely come in third not only due to it's BEAUTY but also due to it's reasonable cost. That being said...for me personally...CREED TABAROME works well and...I believe I could wear it most every day (unlike many of my SPECIAL fragrances). Oooh MPG "EAU DES ILES" continues to be my favorite SPECIAL fragrance (along with SERGE LUTEN "FUMERIE TURQUE&quot. LORENZO VILLORESI "PIPER NIGRUM" continues to rank right up at the TOP as well.

    Regards,

If I had to name one, I would choose Caron L'Anarchiste. This is not to say that it's the most versatile, I just love the fact that the name, bottle, and juice inside are so much different than anything out there. And I like different.

I would have to agree with Ballard, even though I do find Zino to be a bit limited in wearability. It's pretty heavy for daytime/suntime wear. But it's just so dreamy, so beautiful -- wearing it is like being high. So if I could only have one, it would have to be Zino. I couldn't stand being without it.

I'm quite dubious about this question.

My approach to this would be to find the best fragrance by popular opinion by means of a poll.

My Initial thoughts would lead to me to ask - what criteria would the "best" fragrance be based on? I'm afraid there is no simple answer to this as it is too subjective a question.

GEIR. I wish I had discovered this one sooner. I would have saved a lot of time and money searching for the "ultimate oriental". I adore this one so much that if I had only one scent in the world, this would be it. I haven't received one compliment while wearing this fragrance, but it doesn't matter. It compliments me. Milamber hit the nail on the head when he described this in his notebook as "tears of an angel". *

I think for me it would have to be CDG "Avignon". When I first put it on I am transported from the earthly realm to the spirit realm. I feel holy, purified, centered and calm. Growing up Catholic, I had brief moments of spiritual centeredness and this reminds me of knealing on hard benches and praying. I guess it wakes me up from this physical reality and whispers, "There is more going on than meets the eye!".

For the past couple of months i've been reaching quite often for HM EDT.
What a buttery smooth, masterfully blended fragrance. This scent amazes me with each and every spray, i can't get enough of it! Not too sweet, the citrus notes give it a slight 'bite'.

So if i HAD to live with one scent only, HM EDT would be my choice.

I dont think i have a favorite fragrance, i'm always on the search for different fragrances, and my top 5 is always changing. But if i was held at hostile situations, i would say ROCHAS MAN, lol that's right!!!!! To many people it's just a normal gourmand, but this is seriously hands down my most complimented fragrance since my Basenotes era, and it's just so addicting, never gives me a headache, sorta have an anti-depressant effect too, lol. When everybody from all walks of life compliment you on a fragrance, you know you have something special, and to me ROCHAS MAN is THE ONE to keep forever, i think i'm going to wear it in my wedding, lol....i'll shut up now.

I don't know how BN was in the past, since I only joined a few years ago, but I enjoy it immensely today.

And to answer the original question:

    Nope. Can't think of one.

My favorite smell is Chanel's Eau de Cologne, but I wouldn't say it's the best fragrance. Not versatile enough, poor longevity, and virtually no compliments.

I have yet to find the holy grail, but the best batches of Millesime Imperial come very, very close.

If I had to pick one out my my entire fragrance history, it would definitely be Dolce and Gabbana Pour Homme. But the vintage stuff, not the reformulations.

It was my signature scent. My trademark.
