    Default October '05 purchases

Hey, gang, I've loved the "Recent purchases" thread and almost posted there just now, but it is somewhere near 14 pages long, and thus so old many of it's posts are no longer recent. I know several members HAVE posted purchases this month on that thread, and I apologize to them for starting a new thread, but I thought it might be fun to break down our purchases posts into the months we get them. There'd be the added advantage of "seasonalizing" the scents we pick and get pumped about wearing.

So I'm happy to try starting this for this month. If it doesn't catch on and the fine recent purchases thread keeps going strong, well, nothing lost.

I picked up Alexander McQueen's Kingdom edp at long long last. I've meant to get it since Tero sent me a sample a couple years ago, but now I'm a proud owner. A great and seductive evening scent. (Another thanks to Tero!)

Jicky parfum do toilette. At last I own this beauty and can see what everyone is talking about regarding this edp. I scored a tester bottle from a local brick and mortar store--it isn't available in the US anymore. I love the edT, but with this new one I get a drydown.

Bring on the stinkies! At the end of last month I picked up Fueilles de Tabac and Vintage Tabarome.

Yesterday i ordered Bond 9's Central Park in the 1.5 oz. bottle.
This will be my LAST purchase (decants not included) for a long while because i have been on a spending spree for the past two years and simply cannot afford it any longer :-[. Plus,Christmas will be here before we know it!!

Not to mention,i now have so (TOO) many scents that its sometimes hard trying to decide what to wear and there are scents (i otherwise love) that, for some reason, seem to get neglected :'(.

Thus far in October, I've taken delivery of bottles of:

    Egoiste Platinum
    Tuscany
    Michael Kors
    Trumper's Sandalwood
    Trumper's GFT
    Trumper's Eau de Portugal

Don't get me wrong. It's not that I'm self-indulgent; I just wouldn't want my life to be dull! Actually, I really need to cut down on my perfume purchases, but it's proving to be a losing battle at the moment.

No purchases yet, but I received a new bottle of Opium in a swap.

I'm saving up for my trip later this month, hoping the duty-free shops I will see will be well-stocked.
    I've trademarked the color bleu

I fear it is only a matter of time before I succumb to the lure of Aramis JHL and C&S No. 88 though.

    I'm just getting started.

Oct: Burberry's by Burberry and Havana by Arimis. I liked the Havana(1/4 oz) so much, I immediately ordered two more 1/4 oz bottles. Both were "first" and bought blind'

October was full of purchases in Moscow.
I found a lot of things in our our capital - I believe the range is more than in New York!!!
    So
1/ Dior Eau Noire. Fantastic thing!!!
2/ Guerlain Vetiver pour Elle. Very good! Smells almost like Dior creations...
3/ Van Cleef & Arpels pour Homme
    4/ Creed Tabarome Vintage
    5/ Valentino Vendetta Uomo
    6/ Lutens Iris Silver Mist
    7/ L`Occitane Mimosa
8/ a lot of samples like Bond #9, Bois de Filao, Slatkin Muguet, some MPG, etc
9/ vintage samples of Diorella, Mitsouko, Sous le Vent, Chypre Coty, - and I get the difference between new modern and vintage formulas. That changing just kills me!!!

Tehee, here you can see why I'm so keen on sharing samples/decants of Kingdom Chris, you're most wellcome!

I'm on a purchase diet this month, since I spent way too much money (from my budget) in August and September. My latest acquisitions (last month) are Dior Homme (had to get two bottles of it *), Gaultier2, Lacroix Tumulte pour homme and Prada Intense.

    Background - Jil Sander (mini)
    Egoiste (mini)

    And more purchases in October:

1/ Nu EDP by YSL - I will wear it myself

2/ O J Perrin pour Homme. That`s frag from another jewellery maker. I believe his fragrances were not-so-good business so it`s discontinued, and that was a reason to buy.

None. Had to be the one here. I finally realized though that I have many samples I haven't tried yet, some a year old. I've decided to start getting them out instead. I think I was concerned that if I tested them I'd buy more products. Probably no need for the big concern though since that isn't happening to me. Yesterday I sampled Vetyver Oriental and Nostalgia and resisted.

Vetyver Oriental has a real interesting opening and I thought I was sunk for sure but the drydown was way to sticky with the coco and benzoin so no danger on that one.

Nostalgia was closer to dooming me but nice as it is, the thought of more debt to pay thwarted me.

So today I sold my Guerlain Vetiver and Dune here at work for a few bucks instead.

For the month so far: minus two.

Some of you guys really scare me!
