Which bottle do you think is most nicely designed? (Me, I vote for Etiquette Bleue (D'Orsay).)

I have to say Bulgari Black. Both the name and the bottle fits the scent more than any other scent I've ever tried.

You have good taste! Those D'Orsay bottles are gorgeous and a work of art in themselves. I have a bottle of D'Orsay's Arome 3, which comes in the same bottle as Etiquette Bleue. Love the way they feel so heavy in the hand.

Two other bottles that I really like are:

    - the traditional Trumper's bottle with frosted glass and the crown stopper - very elegant-looking; and

    - the Eau de Rochas Pour Homme bottle - heavy glass with a crazed, cracked appearance and texture. Nice bit of modern design, that conveys a feeling of frenzy.

I prefer the house bottle concept. Especially examples by:

    L'Artisan Parfumeur
    Creed
    Caron (PuH, Yatagan, 3eme Homme)
    Lorenzo Villoresi
    Etro
    Diptyque.

House bottles I don't like are those by:
    MPG
    SL export line
Givenchy (nice flask bottle, but the black cap looks cheap and inferior)
    Caswell-Massey

I too love this one. Nemo's bottle is unique and appealing--a sleek black enigma with the "Nemo" in just ever so slightly less black (more gray) lettering. An objet d'art!

And the Different Company bottles are excellent design examples as well along the lines of the Dior Pour Homme bottle. The concentric stacked discs that make up the metal caps set off the heavy square glass bottles. And don't forget they come in their own little black leather covers. Very fetish.

I'm not going to play a "sophisticate" but I'd use some nominations:

Old-school classic - Signoricci (a perfect one by Lalique)
Contemporary classic - all pre-Allure Chanel's (both Pour Monsieur's, Antaeus and both Egoiste's)
Art Deco (well, sort of) - Jaipur Homme EDP (metal one)
Mainstream - Gucci Envy FM or Montblanc Presence
    Alternative (rectangular/cubic, say, "anti-bottles&quot - Gucci PH / Michael FM / M7
Avantgarde - DK Men and Comme des Garcons (soap-bar likes: EDP, 2, 3)

Special prize - Coriolan (it's just brilliant)

I'm thinking the 4.25 oz OLD SPICE bottle.

When you take your wet Reeboks out of the washing machine, nothing helps them to hold their shape while drying like slipping an OLD SPICE bottle in each shoe.

I don't think there are too many Martha Stewarts around here who have access to OLD SPICE bottles...

Honorable Mention: GUERLAIN VETIVER. One of the cats knocked bottle off dresser. A lot of perfume containers would have shattered. To quote W.C. Fields: Who hasn't experienced the tragedy of a broken bottle? But VETIVER was unfazed. And it is clear glass - easy to know when it time to re-order. Side profile of bottle is pretty cool - cantilevered slabs of glass.

Any Penhaligon's bottle but especially the one's for Blenheim Bouquet and Hammam Bouquet. The understated elegance of these bottles is staggering. I also quite like the elegant simplicity of the 250/500/1000ml Creed bottles, especially the 250ml one since it seems to be the most balanced version.

guess I'm a fan of the traditional, or the conservative; I like the Creed 2.5oz bottles far more than the 4oz. Even the caps that some people have said are cheap... I like the bevelled aspect to the edges.

the Santa Maria Novella bottles are gorgeous, also. Those labels!

my all time favorite, though, for intrinsic as well as nostalgic reasons, would have to be the Acqua di Parma Colonia. just doesn't get any more classic than that, I'd say.

The Hugh Parsons bottles are very nice and have a nice hefty, solid metal cap that snaps on very snugly. HP bottles are similar to Creed bottles.

I also like Penhalgons bottle style, and the cap is clever, but I wish it were real glass. I love the colors in the Douro ribbon and label. I'd love a tie like that!

Dior Homme and Terre d'Hermes can't go without mention as well.
    Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah
