What do people think about this one?

How does it differ from the "Original Vetiver"?

I wore it twice last week. Wonderful scent.

It is very different from Original Vetiver, which released only a couple of years ago. OV is contemporary, soapy, clean man from the shower smelling, and it fits into the current trend of unobtrusive and hygenic fragrances.

Vetiver (1948) has more vetiver, some ginger, and as Mike C once perfectly observed, a dirty minerally quality that smells like the wet dirt and rocky vegetal face of some damp cliff.

Vetiver (1948) is light and took me a half dozen wearings to figure out and find with my nose late in the day. It is still there, but too lightly for any sillage and perhaps for anyone intimate too. I've extended its longevity by applying a small amount of jojoba oil before spraying it on in the morning.

Is Vetiver 1948 still in production?
    Is it available anywhere?

Er, I've been able to buy it.

Neiman-Marcus is the biggest venue selling the greatest number of Creed scents in the US that I know of. Email the store and email Perfumes Raffy in LA.
