Thread: Finding Tuscany

    Default Finding Tuscany

Wow. I must have called and stopped in at least 20 different specialty stores, department stores, and pharmacies. Including JC Penney, Kaufmann's, K-Mart, Rite Aid, Eckerd, Parfumania, CVS, Men's Wearhouse, a handful of family-run drug stores, and (getting desperate) Wal-Mart, Big Lots, TJ Maxx, and Gabriel Brothers!

I FINALLY found a bottle of the now-precious liquid at a family drug store in a neighboring town, apparently the owner has a fetish for perfumes/colognes because he had sales cases full of a collection that easily put Kaufmann's to shame! All in his little 10x30 store, no less!

Well, I bought it, and sprayed some on myself, ingnored the first wafts, then later smelled myself. I could have cried. I knew immediately that this is not something I will ever be wearing.

No more "buy before you try" for me. And for now, my signature scent, is Dolce and Gabbana!!! I don't see anything beating out D&G for a sexy scent that takes you to Italy in one sniff. That, and I don't have the time or money to keep looking LOL.

    Vita a Dolce & Gabbana!

Start heading your way to Ferragamo...I think it's more your style.

Offline: Most Nordstroms stores now carry it (along with JHL I might add)
Online: Well... try eBay (click the "ebay" link...)

Odd, I have no trouble finding it....well, at least Tucany isn't too expensive, otherwise that would be one expensive experiment!

Ok, I confess. Yes... JHL seems to have been quietly re-introduced with NO fanfare, marketing or promotion. I discovered this a few months back when my local Nordstroms had three brand new boxes on the shelves for $50 each. I bought them all and sold them on, well, you know where I sold them.

THe nice SA called me each time a few more boxes arrived. I went back and bought more a few weeks later and so on, selling all of them on, you KNOW where I sold them. This went on for a few months until the price at Nordstroms went up to $58 and I noticed other seller's had figured out that JHL was showing up in THEIR local Nordstroms'.

That's odd.. I found Tuscany great but didn't really like Dolce & Gabbana... And while Tuscany smells "Italian" to me, Dolce & Gabbana doesn't....
