Default Creed MI versus Creed Erolfa

    1) To me, Creed Erolfa smells very similar to Creed Millesime Imperial.

    2) However, while Erolfa has a great staying power, MI is gone within 60 minutes ...

-> Do you share/agree with these observations?

    Many thanks!

I much prefer MI and it lasts at least 4 hours on me.

I see no significant similarity. MI is ok but I prefer the more off-beat Erolfa. The briny deep fits me better than melons.

I don't know about the similarity between the two, but as for going the distance, I find MI lasts all day with me. I usually find I need another squirt through the day of most things but with the delicious MI adding more would be overkill as it is still lingering long after I leave the office.

I don't find too much similarity either. Erolfa does outlast MI 100fold on my skin. I think Erolfa has many more synthetic/man made ingredients which ultimately help the longevity. Actually, I think it is the Creed that contains the least amount of natural ingredients out of all of them. Either that or the calone note is so overpowering that it's impossible to detect much of anything else.

Outside the "house note" of Creed, I find little else in common. I actually find their duration about the same, neither of which is all that outstanding.

Between the two, I prefer MI. I don't think they're that similar. MI is melony while I Erolfa is watery. With that being said, they both last no longer than an hour on my skin.

I guess they are similar in that they both evoke the sea in their own way, but to me they sure don't smell similar.
Erolfa does last longer and has more sillage.
Imperial is an amazing but short lived experience.

I mixed both of them together for an incredible experience. Highly recommended!

I'm another that doesn't find too much similarity.

I enjoy MI's opening more, but Erlofa has the better dry down.

I think I get more longevity from Erolfa, but both last at least 4-5 hours. Maybe more.

They both share saltiness of Geraniol and Ambroxan, as well as some of the thicker, waxier basenotes, but their overall character I find very very different.

I like Erolfa, don't like MI, and I find both of them to be very similar in that they both have an initial harsh, metallic synthetic opening accord, which is typical of many Creeds.

I used to wear MI (it was my very first Creed), and I found it to be insanely strong and long lasting. I could smell it all day, even when I wanted the scent to go away. I actually found MI to be so strong and cloying that I got sick of wearing it after about 6 months, and I threw the bottle away. Never bought it again. I know I'm in the minority with MI for longevity.

Erolfa is IMO the best marine scent I`ve tried. It`s like a salty sea-breeze. A sophisticated sea-breeze. I`m falling in love!

Last week my Erolfa bottle arrived, I loved it. MI is ok but I think Erolfa smells way better. MI has this metallic melony burst which can be annoying for some people but Erolfa is subtle, more masculine and totally inoffensive. I wish it had a little more staying power. I feel myself much more comfortable wearing Erolfa than MI

A bit off-topic, but when we are talking about Erolfa.. What do you think of the new bottle-design? I think i maby like the old bottle best. It separates easily from rest of the creeds.

So what? your post is six years old

Anyway, I was actually interested in this comparison, I'm looking for a sea-salted fragrance for summer, and while not totally disliking Millesime Imperial, I was a bit annoyed by the melon accord, from what i've read Erolfa would be a good alternative, but I haven't had the chance to sample it so far

For very hot temperatures i like citrusy scents like Eau d'Hadrien or Versace Eau Fraiche, but I feel they lack a bit character, I'm looking for something in the same league but with a salty edge to it, any of you think Erolfa would fit in that description?

Nor do I. To the poster up above, have you tried Sel Marin for that salty edge?

MI by a mile. They smell similar??? Is your Erolfa fake?lol. Erolfa smells a tad like urine. And whomever said this thread is old, we are always criticized for re posting. So this is what happens when you don't repost.

I have both and don't get a similarity except, at least for me, they disappear in a couple of hours.

    1) I find Millesime Imperial and Erolfa to be very different. MI is an all time favorite of mine, whereas Erolfa is just ok for me. I don't get much of a similarity between them at all. They're so different.

    2) Two and a half sprays of MI last at least ten hours for me - but - I only wear it when the weather is warm enough for it. MI is best at 75 F / 24 C and up.

Same here...one of the lucky ones, get 10 hours plus with MI. Made for warm weather. Best smell in the Biz.

I actually find them to be more different than similar. I have both, with Erolfa being a new acquisition. It's probably the sea-salt accord that makes them smell similar in any meaningful way. But strangely, the first thing I thought when I smelled Erolfa was "man, this almost reminds me of Dior Homme Sport 2012." The zesty citrus-ginger vibe that it has going reminds me of the opening of DHS. MI does not make me think that in any way. It's definitely more floral and fruity, and a lot sweeter.

Haha! Although I disagree with your commment, I find it quite humorous & I respect your opinion

To me, the biggest difference between MI & Erolfa is the vibe they give off. I feel MI is very fruity & fun, great for casual occasions, hanging out with friends, or for dates. All of the females I've encountered actually love MI (if they are able to get a whiff of it). Erolfa, on the other hand, sends out this kind of aura of sophistication to my senses. Great for work, or other professional settings.

Performance for both is similar on my skin. Moderate projection for the first 2 hours, then sits really close to the skin for another 2-3 hours.

Both has great stayingpower on my skin. MI is a fruity Fresh pleasant scent, while Erolfa is more dirty and challenging. I don't find them that Similar.

Creed MI doesn't last in terms of longevity. However, SMW smells more like MI as opposed to Erolfa. Possibly olfactory fatigue? Have your friends/family to give you their opinions. In my experience, women tend to have more astute noses. I read somewhere this stems from a Darwinian perspective of the survival of the fittest? Better of the two? MI.

With Erolfa, I get more of a strong citrus with a soft, gentle, & very appealing marine undertone. I feel it may be lacking that "salty edge" you are looking for. To me, it doesn't smell like straight ocean salt water. It insinuates the ocean, but does it in a very unique way. The older formulations (before 2005 I believe) may have been more "salty" & "dirty." The current formulations have a more prominent citrus accord. Definitely try it out! It is an amazing fragrance Hope this helps.

I was actually being dead serious lol. My wife and I both smelled Erolfa, I literally got a urine vibe and she didn't. Another BN member got the same vibe I did. Maybe a combo of some notes gives certain people that vibe. I wished it didn't because if it wasn't for that I thought it was a great scent!
