okay, promise you won't tell..the company that makes those "if you like DKNY, you'll love our BIG CITY" also makes a few of their own 'original' ones. There's one called cotton candy that's like $5 for a big aerosol can. I like it. Lasts all of 5 minutes, thoguh.

Don't know if this is considered cheap, but I love Diesel Plus Plus (most of the time you can get it very cheap here).
And there's this one Adidas scent, it's called Urban Spice and smells almost exactly like Chic for men by Carolina Herrera. I've only tried the shower gel, I don't know if there's an EdT.

Jovan Musk - simple musk that I enjoy since it reminds me of the much more expensive (and higher quality) Santa Maria Novella Musc Oro (gold musk).

Coty Wild Spice - I got this for $5 at Big Lots. Another one I'll wear once cool weather sets in. My favorite cheap scent because it doesn't smell cheap at all. The Wild Woods is good too (skip the Wild Citrus, it's pathetically short lived).

Aqua Quorum and Laguna Homme are my favorite cheap fragrances. They are even better in terms of sillage and longevity than most of my niche scents. Ok, now I'll reveal one of my darkest secrets...I have a cheap knockoff fragrance from Walmart that emulates Polo Blue. It's called "Classic Match: Our version of Polo Blue." While it isn't exactly the same as the real stuff, it comes pretty damn close and an average person couldn't tell the difference. The reason this scent caught my attention was because I tested it on my wrist one day just to see how realistic it was. Six hours later it was still going strong. I had to come back and get it. For $7.99 I figured I can't go wrong. I tested it against my bottle of Polo Blue at home and while it doesn't beat the real thing in terms of quality, it definitely wins in the longevity department.

I love a couple of the Cuba Paris fragrences. There about $10 for 1.5 oz (there the ones that come in the cigar shaped bottles).

The red one is my SOTD. Nice tobacco.

The Blue one is also quite good.

Ah yes, Urban Spice by Adidas... I like this scent also, very inexpensive but very comforting and classy smell. But I do have to check if it really smells like Chic for Men.

Puig Quorum is also an all time favorite....

Adidas Moves (which amazes me for a drug store scent) and Elizabeth Taylor's Passion for Men...oh yeah, and Baryshnikov Sport, which I've discovered smelled quite similar to Polo Blue on the drydown.

Well...I rather not use the word "cheap" but rather....INexpensive.
That being said, I would have to say that the BEST inexpensive fragrance (I have recently purchased) is a bottle of GUERLAIN HERITAGE at MARSHALLS...$19.99 for a 3.4 oz. bottle! Also...
HABIT ROUGE and BANDIT can be bought online at a bargin prices!

Out of my personal experience for the "under $20" category. Paul Smith Story (nice alternative to TM Cologne, but unfortunately, not as long lasting or strong). Kenneth Cole New York (if you can find it, it's about $12 at Perfumania for a 1.7 oz I think). Paris Hilton Heir and Just Me (I know, I'm surprised too). Zihr Corduroy (really nice light musky vanilla, not my thing, but it's better than I expected). Also, Curve Chill isn't too bad either for a Curve product. Also, B*Men can be had for $15 at TJMaxx/Marshall's, which really isn't shabby for a Thierry Mugler product. I have heard good things about OS Signature (Old Spice). It's about $10 at the local drug store if you can find it on clearance. Also anything out of the 360 lineup for Perry Ellis is impressive (not original concepts, but impressive).

Old Spice. I don't wear it, but the security guard in my office does. He is a Greek gentleman in his early sixties and he always smells warmly spicy & unmistakably manly. Perfect projection, too.

I can't wear it. On my skin, it smells too "drugstore." But on this gentleman it is an enviable scent. Wish I could find something "designer" that was similar, but perhaps made with ingredients of a higher quality.

I have great memories of Yardley Lavender but have not been able to locate it for years now.

My favorite CHEAP fragrances I have right now are:
    • Pinaud Clubman Special Reserve - $5 online from several places (Drugstore.com)
    • Elsha 1776 - @$20 from Carroll's of Beverly Hills - online.
Both of these are leather fragrances and both smell remarkably good for the price. The Pinaud Sp. Reserve is a stronger leather scent but is an aftershave strength. But good. Elsha 1776 is a warm spice amber leather fragrance and is cologne strength. Both are very enjoyable scents. Hard to go wrong with these for the $$ - they are comfort food for the nose.

I was going to mention these body sprays (vetiver, bergamot, and amber)... the vetiver and bergamot were in stock at the local drug store and are, well, better than your average Axe body spray. Can't agree about Stetson Fresh, IMHO.

Chaps, Hummer H2, and Azzaro Pure Lavender/Cedrat have all been great < $15 purchases.
