I would't say Nino Cerruti Pour Homme is superior to Creed and every other niche fragrance !! [smiley=thumbdown.gif]

If I had to pick just one, not considering longevity, not considering practicality, and not considering temperature in any way, shape or form, then my favorite fragrance would be Silver Mountain Water.

I can't do my all-time favorite fragrance...but my favorite at the moment, since I discovered it (thanks to this site!) a couple months ago is Dolce & Gabanna Pour Homme. But...Creed OV is sneaking up pretty quickly to obtain this most coveted title in my medicine cabinet

Bravo, SixCats! It is subject to changing too, right? :-)

My favorite fragrances are chypres, some would say "the meaner, the better", Numero Uno being Coriander and close Numeo Duo #19. Although I do not particularly like fragrances in the heart-shaped bottles, I like the one with the heart on the box -- YSL In Love Again. ;-)

And never having smelled but a niche or two, I can't comment on what designer frag might smell better than them.
But I can say that my own personal favorite is, once again: Zino Davidoff.

For me it's Piper Nigrum. I've taken the summer off from it and can't wait to don it again when the weather gets cool. It's the scent that launced a thousand purchases for me as it totally blew my mind in the twists and turns it takes and has left me seeking something like it since........without finding anything in the same galaxy.

Romeo gigli. It's so funky and charasmatic. Not a fragrances I'd ever 'fall in love' with head over heels, but then what is love anyway except a breif infatuation, doomed to burn brightly but then fade just as quickly in the blink of an eye? ....Romeos above all that, a real stayer.

    Hi Guys,

Hey Paul! Ummm...I didn't realize that PIPER NIGRUM was your favorite! EXCELLENT CHOICE! PN is most certainly one of my TOP TEN fragrances! You might recall that I wore PN for my 30th. High School Reunion (back in 2003) and it was a big hit! Hi Timberwolf...well...you are right...things are subject to change...well...somewhat! Most of my TOP TEN has (more or less) remained consistant...although...I think I placed HABIT ROUGE in (or near) my TOP TEN. COLE...ummm...my FAVORITE FAVORITE...geeze...that is a TOUGH one! On the whole...I would STILL have to say...CREED TABAROME MILLESIME. Then again...I could NEVER be without SMN ACQUA DI CUBA or...PIPER NIGRUM for that matter. Also...YSL KOUROS, MPG EAU DES ILES, L'ARTISAN DZING and MPG ROUTE DU VETIVER...Ahhhhh...."get the DUCT TAPE...my heads going to EXPLODE!"

    Regards,
    SixCats!

Yohji, the original Yohji Yamamoto fragrance, now sadly almost impossible to find. [smiley=cry.gif]

Other great loves: Angélique Encens, Comme des Garçons EdP, Angel & A*Men, Bandit, Coco & Égoïste, Le Parfum de Thérèse, Messe de Minuit, Piper Nigrum & Yerbamate, Guerlain Classics (scents created by Aimé and Jacques Guerlain), most Serge Lutenses...

Which day are we talking about? Consistency has never been one of my virtues.

Nevertheless, here are a few that stand out for me for some reason or another:

Musc Ravageur - sexy, and satisfies my sweet tooth.

    Parfum d'Habit - my "Don't f*%# with me!" scent.

Mechant Loup - individualism, simple as that!

Jaipur Homme (EDP) - I've been wearing this one for decades (OK, I'm aging myself) and still reach for it.

Choosing ONLY ONE favorite? Gosh...there are too many different occasions and types of weather and mood. But if someone held a gun to my head and forced me to pick one, it would probably be Musc Ravageur.

Default Re: Can we talk about....my five favourite fragances?

My number one signature fragrance is Lorenzo Villoresi Uomo. It works in all seasons as far as I am concerned. Villoresi, in his "classic blue series", did something rather unique. He started with Uomo which accumulates the sum total of his favorite ingredients in one masterful creation, then he isolated some of those elements from Uomo, and created other scents using those constiuent parts for new creations. He didn't build up, he started with the pinnacle and built down. Uomo is the father of all the other blue bottles from this magnificent series.

An emotional favorite is Chevalier D'Orsay, because I dissed in the Review Section with a "neutral" rating, based upon a stale bottle I purchased on-line. When I got fresh one, it zoomed way ahead of just about everything, except the one mentioned above. It is so rich, so smooth, so beautifully masculine that it truly is the fragrance of a gentleman, with classically expected fragrance notes, but also what smells to me like blackberry and anise. It is a joy to wear it. I also love Arome 3 (trois not three) but Chevalier is still the best from this distinguished maker.

L'Homme de Coeur by Divine is my summer favorite. It is so etheral and cold and yet mildly sharp, and it is incredible in the summer. It is the fragrance equivalent an air conditioner, and it is so subtle that it evokes only occasional comments, which are univesally positive and from women.

Antico Caruso by Profumum is a totally singular experience and another favorite, that almost go sold off. It exists, when applied correctly, in a holographic world of its own, not really on me, but all about me, maybe a foot or two away, and it sneaks in and out, and is so talc-like and warm and just suggestively sweet that it makes me very happy and comfortable. It lasts all day and into the night, and is close by like a scented guardian angel. Must be applied with an atomizer and at a bit of a distance, or it is strangely wretched. With the splash only it is down right oily and funky and no one liked it. It embarrased me at first. Then I tried the spray. What a difference! I love to spary it on in my closet dressing room, because the smell lingers lightly in the small room for a couple of days.

I love Hugh Parsons Traditinal Blue as my favorite for the office, but not just there. It starts off kind of ordinary, nice but not terribly special or compelling, but (upon the advise of Dr. Creed) I later noticed that it evolves into something captivating and beautiful. This one can be a total surprise, and for me defines the entire process of drying down as a fantastic changing experience. It ends in a different place than it started. What a lovely secret for me.

My favorite fragrance of all? Easy: Angel Men.

Granted, you have to be in exactly the right mood and have the right weather conditions to pull it off, but when you are, it's amazing.

Post Re: Can we talk about....your favourite fragance

Joe Frances above mentioned my two favourite fragrances overall; L'Homme de Coeur and Villoresi's Uomo. Although I enjoy several other scents, these two are both versatile and interesting, refreshing yet full-bodied. As much as I occasionally enjoy, say, Piper Nigrum, Timbuktu and L'Air du desert Marocain, those are not the kind of fragrances I could wear seven days a week, and be always satisfied with my decision.

I would have to say Cacharel pour L'Homme. (How could they discontinue that? Is there any way to get them to reissue, while keeping the original formula?) A close second would be D&G pour Homme.

Both of these have many stories and travels behind them.

While I have quite a few current loves, some of which will stick I'm sure...

The two that have stood the test of several years and many many wearings are Mitsouko parfum and Angelique Encens.

Mits is the only one I have worn daily, month in and month out, my 'signature' if you will. I hardly wear her now though as I have so many newer scents, but I will never be without her in my wardrobe no matter how small it gets. Mitsouko also taught me a love of 'most all chypres.
