    Parents' house: Moslbuddjewchristhindao

    A new perfume

Since years revolutionize in the middle of the 1990er the avant-garde Parfueme of Commes of the Garcons the market - simple flakons, whose contents smell after photocopier, nocturnal swimming pool or after garage, and not how otherwise in the industry "beautiful" associations wakes. Mark of Buxton, senior Parfuemeur with Paris megacompany the Symrise, is responsible for these smells. Christian Astuguevielle, which asks the question with each new perfume, makes the defaults to the "everyday life smells" of CDG: "as we can show our current reality olfaktorisch?"

The new smell of Marks of Buxton is called "Moslbuddjewchristhindao - thereby we finally to smell oneself can" - and one did not make Buxton for more at defaults than this text this time. But Astuguevielle has to do also nothing thereby. The new smell developed for the small citizen of Berlin shop "parents' house": "Mark of Buxton pour parents' house", then stands it red marked on the soil of the Flakon casing. Daniel Josefsohn, photographer and member con "parents' house", tells the general manager of CDG of the astonished face of Adrian Joffe, when that discovered the mark: "meant: Why don't we make that?"

"parents' house" make that anyhow always in such a way. In the small shop in Berlin center there is a selection of t-Shirts, jackets, to buy caps or tapes all in manual work printed on with text: "work makes work", "to one howls" or "German oak" - the latter was printed on a German Federal Armed Forces t Shirt a best seller, from which the singer Herbert Groenemeyer bought equal 500 pieces. "poetry on textile" calls itself that or in a sentence: "by product development from everyday life utilizable goods Unikate" are usually invented here and arranged, by local artists. "parents' house" understands itself as group of artists, or as gallery - like also it other part, which group of origins of "farm servants and farmhands", who have their Headquarter since 1996 in the Hamburg Karoviertel. The group is developed like a family: with father (Tetjus doing gel), nut/mother (C.L.), sister (Steffus) and son (Josefsohn).

"Mosl", how Josefsohn calls the new perfume briefly, is a "citizen of Berlin smell". Here invented, here conceives, here at home. Clearly it is to be able to be associated however with all world religions contained in the title - therefore "a spice or a something from each of the six culture areas somewhat in it, that approximates", says Josefsohn, is, which lives and works with its wife, a Architektin, and the dog Jesus in a former horse stable in the citizens of Berlin mountain route. Otherwise he understands "Mosl" as community product of different artists. While Mark of Buxton, which Josefsohn became acquainted with before one and a half years with a Fotoshooting in Berlin, contributed the main component, the smell and Tetjus doing gel a text wrote in addition - a "Begleitduft for thinking" -, cares to Josefsohn itself for the total concept. And around the packing.

But it has the support of the concrete specialist Bernd Hillemeier, professor to DOES Berlin. Hillemeier, whose project group under the line manufactures its assistant Henning emperor the perfume covering for "parents' house", was responsible also for the concrete mixture, from which the much discussed stelen are made for new Holocaust memorial. Of such clutches Josefsohn with enthusiasm tells, and he kramt a photo out, on which he is to be seen to the memorial architect with Peter Eisenman. In the picture center Josefsohn the two 1500 gram holds heavy, white concrete right parallelepiped, in which "Moslbuddjewchristhindao" is sunk. To open one turns the stones against each other, magnets repels itself, which knows small flaeschchen with the yellowish liquid is taken out.

Starting from at the end of of July one will be able to buy the perfume for about 120 euro - not in the large Discountern naturally, but only in the two "Elternhaus" shops and in the Commes the Garcons Shop in London. Erstmal. On further plans still one works. And how does the perfume smell? That is difficult to say - as with all good perfumes. Anyhow not after church. And also not after photocopier.

THIS ARTICLE ROUGHLY SAYS THE FOLLOWING:
    "Mosl... - Let's be tolerant - now!"

Extend the unspeakble part to full length and you have the complete name of a cologne created by Comme des Garcon's perfumer Marks Buxton for 'Elternhaus'.

Elternhaus (home of mom and dad) is an avantguarde artists gallery and revolutionary fashion shop in Berlin with embroidered T-shirts, caps etc. like 'work means work', playing on the classic/tragic 'work makes free', or on army shirts 'until the first one cries', and a cap maybe: 'German oak' (mocking the way we Germans traditionally like to see ourselves).

The unspeakable part of the name is meant to represent the six world religions and the cologne is supposed to include elements from the whole world. It is intended as a philosophical program or political / religious statement beyond just being another perfume. The subtitle says: 'Damit wir uns endlich riechen können' (all in the name, figure) - 'So we can finally smell each other!' The gimmick here: it can also be understood as 'so we can finally smell ourselves'. NOT being able to smell someone in colloquial German means: disliking a person, hardly being able to tolerate him/her. So my first suggestion for the title in English (above) is a rather free one. I almost chose 'Lets Embrace -now!', but that is more suitable for Paris, not for Berlin today, which is supposed to be presented here. Of course - you cannot beat bubblefishs:
-- [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif] "thereby we finally to smell oneself can" [smiley=2vrolijk_08.gif]--

According to the article, this cologne was released late in July in Berlin (at € 120) and in London.
'How it smells? - Difficult to say as with any good perfume. Not like church at all, but not like photocopier either'.
Hopefully, DAVID will let us know more? His reviews are always firm as steel! I would want that army shirt before I bought anything else.

To illustrate some ideas of Elterhaus:
    http://www.doverstreetmarket.com/dsmpaper/

Too bad the Berlin shop does not have the cologne yet.
The package is said to be printed: 'Comme des Garcons for Elternhaus'
and be forewarned, they labelled it - UNIFAITH - ! [smiley=engel017.gif]

T-shirts say: 'Correct yesterday, wrong today' (girl)
and 'Every man is his own country' (guy)

Thanks Narcus for the explaination. So "not being able to smell someone" is "almost hate someone":-D Of course it does not mean that "You smelled me. Now love me":-P

"CdG for Elterhaus" - it'd better be very very good:-)
