Default 8 dollar Bond no. 9 bottle, full!!

I went out today with my girlfriend to browse a local veterans thrift store that I usually like to visit once a month. Neither one of us found anything particularly interesting and were on our way out the door when my girlfriend yanked something off the counter and handed it to me with a HUGE smile on her face. It was a FULL bottle of Bond No.9 Broadway Nite. I asked how much and was told it was a staggering 8 DOLLARS!! Needless to say it was purchased within a few seconds. Upon examination though it seems there was a tiny amount of small sediment in the juice and figured that it had been spoiled from sun and/or heat. I decided to try some on and the smell is wonderful, it's still going strong after 4 hours without any rancid notes. Woo-hoo!! Tomorrow I shall peruse other thrift stores in search of similar bargains. Cheers.

good lord! the closest I ever got to a deal like that was a bottle of L'Autre at a shop in Orlando for $9.99 - which for THAT scent, is about $9 too EXPENSIVE!

I'm officially entering my plea of JEALOUSY

Reminds me of the time that I won a bottle of Darkness by Gerpalypagus (or whatever it's called) off of ebay for about $11. I should have kept it and sprayed some whenever I wanted to go cold turkey on this fragrance addiction thing. I nominate it for the official fragrance of EG's Fragrance Abuse Clinic.

Alas, no box. I just came back from Alexander's where I used their bottle for comparison and the two seemed identical. Ebay, eat your heart out.

Edit: Nevermind the last comment, I just bought two full bottles (3.4oz.) of L'Artisan (Mure et Musc and Drole de Rose) for $85 with shipping.

Do reintroductions of classics currently going for $17, when it was going for $200+ a year ago as a lost treasure, count as insanely good deals?

(I'm talking about Giorgio For Men)

I bought a bottle of L'Eau D'Hadrian by Goutal for 2.50 in a thrift shop... brand new too.

Didn't want to smell like sharp ripe lemons though so sold it.

lol@ the realization that this thread was bumped from oblivion back to life. Anyhow, I never considered the thrift store as a source for colognes, but now I gotta check out the thrift stores. I know a few, actually...haven't been in one in years, but I'll try a few later today...

Don't overlook the thrift stores for clothing either. I used to love finding needle in a haystack. While I didn't score any YSL or Gucci, I did score a beautiful pair of A|X jeans for $6, which made my day.

It's true what they say how one man's junk is another man's treasure.

I try thrift shops a lot around here but we seem to have some real hunters who snatch anything good.
