I hate to say it...but what's the dif?

I'm sure you saw my post on "Have you ever guessed wrong".

yeah, I thought for sure this dude was wearing Bulgari Aqva, but nope...nope...nope. It was the common species known as Aqua di Gio.

So that really annoys me. I thought my nose was really keen. The two scents are minimally different, and when they hit skin, they are covering common ground.

Seriously, buy whichever one you think has a cooler bottle... [smiley=undecided.gif]

The two fragrances are really very similar, maybe Aqua di Gio is slightly sweeter.
But I detected a real difference regarding the staying power: Aqua di Gio lasts much longer than the Bulgari. On my skin at least.

I think L'eau D'issey is better than both of them.

Gio is better IMHO. Gio lasts longer.
I have Aqva and I like this alot.... But I have found that Gio is better.
Aqva turns floral on me but not like Issey.
If I had to pick 1 out of these 3 it would be Gio without a doubt or any hesitation.

Any reason why Gio is better? I haven't gave much attention to it since it was so "ambiguous". I'll give it another try if I have the chance. It has been a top seller in Italy for many years..

Bvlagari aqva is 100, 000, 000,000,000,000 better than that armani thing... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]

I'm not a fan of the "aqua" scents but recently I got a sample of Rochas Aquaman and
for some reason, this one struck me as one of the better ones of the breed.

Otherwise, I have to chime in for the Bulgari here. I can't even tolerate the Gio anymore because it's just everywhere and it has been for some time now.

Marines are just so ubiquitous these days that in this genre i go for the quirky and weird if only to stand out from the crowd, hence Rochas Aquaman, Laguna and Miracle L'Aquatronic in my collection.

Aqva is a marine scent with a mineral quality to it. It is the first bvlgari not based on tea. Instead it has a flower nly found in the deepest part of the ocean. It makes you wonder who or what extracts this flower from there? This does not last on m skin and does not smell that good on me.

    I like ADG much better.

3rd. BLV and BLV Notte would be the first.
I wonder what gives it that mineral scent....

To me they are completely different scents that has only 1 thing similiar - they belong to aromatic aquatics group.

Aqva has fresh opening of oranges and mandarines and unique seaweed note that gives it sophisticated and mysterious vibe. Its much more masculine than ADG. Doesnt have huge sillage but longetivity is good (in close to skin mode it may be 8+ hours). Aqva is much more popular in my country than ADG and I was suprised that it also makes scent trail if used enough.

Acqua Di Gio has fresh opening of fruits (mostly watermelon) + flowers. Later it turns into sweet elegant floral. It has feminine vibe, but I cant imagine anyone who would hate it. I smelled it only once on other person than me, so its not as popular as in rest of world here in Slovakia. Sillage and longetivity are IMHO same as Aqva has. Price is higher than Aqva.

I really dont see any connection between this 2 and I think it is worth to have both in wardrobe. ADG would be probably more liked by women. I like both equally but probably use ADG more (I am not often in mood for seaweed note that makes Aqva special)

I love both so I can't say which is better.

I made a search on Aqva pour Homme, and found this thread. The truth is that I saw the date (2005) once that I had posted the name of the perfumer

I like them both in their own ways. When I want some real seaside odor, I go with the Bulgari, but for a cool, fresh, icy water scent, I like AdG. I don't get much floral with Bulgari Aqua, thank goodness - yeah, that would be a bust. And AdGPH is great in the serious heat, whereas BAPH doesn't really appeal to me when it's extremely hot.

    I love random superbumps!!

If it had to buy one, it would be Aqva, but I'm not a huge fan of aquatics to begin with.

I'd agree with this from my experience,. All three of them are "everywhere," but women like Issey the most in my "old guy" experience. So take it with a grain of salt.

If you like spicy aquatics more
    try Aqva
    Else
    Aqua Di Gio

Sillage and projection of Aqva is more than Aqua Di Gio.
Personaly i prefer Aqua Di Gio

Yup, that indolic jasmine middle note is exactly why I like Aqva! It's a pleasant surprise in the context of a potentially banal masculine aquatic.
