Anyone have any experiences with http://www.perfumeshop.com/index.html ?
Looks slightly suspect to me. Some of the English isn't so hot which seems to be a common thread running through scam sites.

Thought I would add some comments to this.

fragrancenet: I had a bad experience with them. I placed an order, and then found I was unable to pay straight away since they don't take echeques. I had to wait a week to deposit the money into my paypal, and in the meantime I emailed them about the situation. When the money was deposited I went to pay, but because of exchange rates I no longer had enough money. The site allows international customers to pick their currency and order in their own currency, so why is the payment process in US dollars in this case. I emailed them trying to sort out the situation and they never replied to ANY of my emails. Awful customer service.

    Scentuality Australia http://www.scentuality.com.au/
This is an Australian based company, but they also ship internationally.
I ordered with Scentuality after the disaster with fragrancenet, knowing there were only 3 days until my mum's birthday (which the perfume was for). They had a good price, and they shipped straight away. Shipping went out on Monday and was recieved on Wednesday. They specialise mainly in the largest sizes of bottles (no samples or miniatures, and often no smaller 30 or 50ml sizes), and have some fairly decent prices (better than any other Australian-based company I've seen). I've spoken to the owner on the phone and she's a really lovely lady. I feel this is a very trustworthy company.

I have gotten stuff from parfumsraffy, not Creed but some of the stuff they make, and they were very nice and friendly and the products were great, just not for me, but the person I gave them too was delighted!

There used to be a lady called Miss Paris who had anything you could think of, I got Mr cathodera a discontinued Monsieur Rochas from her, among other things, and I wanted to put her website but the google results are all too full of Paris Hilton. Maybe somebody with better searching skills could find it...

    Business with them again? yes
    Item shipped to: USA.

Good experience, pretty fast delivery. They had a good price on the item I was looking for. They offer an instant 10% coupon (just click on "join the coupon list") - nice, pays for shipping.

Excellent experiences so far with Sephora online. Not the best prices but quick, dependable service.
Note that I haven't had to return anything yet so I'm not aware of that aspect of their customer service.

First, dpak, thank you for keeping this list.

I have had good luck with bigdiscount.com--add my thumbs up (got a "Petit Cherie" with butterfly stopper for my daughter for her birthday at a hefty discount)

I just posted an order with fragrancex.com, and will update if there are any problems.

After side by side comparisons with 6 other sites, fragrancex was the least expensive for the lot of several fragrances I was buying. Also cheap: fragrancenet. imaginationperfumery, scentiments were most expensive.

I also just ordered with namebrandperfumes.com will let you know how it works.

One thing to mention: I've consistently got excellent service from Sephora, though they are not a discount site.

Another great website that we can look on is www.ljshopping.com. I've just got my Creed Silver Mountain Water 4.0 oz from there. Really authentic and last long on me (10 hours++). Great price and and fast shipping. Was planning to buy MI but they do not have stock yet. Maybe in the future, hopefully.

Just thought I'd throw in some comments from recent shopping... I ended up buying from www.scentmonkey.com...

On the whole, I'm satisfied. I mean, I wasn't blown away by their services, but the prices were good, the service was pretty fast (though they did end up shipping out a day or two after they 'should' have,") and I'd buy from them again.

I have had positive experiences with parfum1.com, imaginationperfumery.com, and beautyencounter.com

I recently ordered a set of samples from scentmonkey.com and had a mixed experience. They arrived quickly, and all but 1 were filled to the brim. The only issue I had was that instead of Paco Rabanne PH, they send me the unisex fragrance Paco. They are literally worlds apart, so it wasn't hard to figure out. I called them the next day and explained the problem, and the service rep tried to tell me that Paco Rabanne PH and Paco were the same fragrance (he really thought this, he wasn't trying to get out of their mistake). After I explained to him the difference between them, I gave him descriptions of the different bottles since the warehouse people were still having trouble. Once they figured it out, they instantly mailed the correct sample and it arrived in a couple days.

+1 for treating the customer well, -1 for knowledge of your product

I will still do business with them in the future, though.

This is a handy list, so I don't feel bad for bumping it for a random thought.

It would be really cool if something like this list were done for decanting sites as well. A lot of people rely on decants to sample things they hear about on this forum, myself included. Maybe you could start a decant section? Or decants/samples perhaps. I should do one myself but I am lazy.

A google search of the phone number comes up with this link (you will need to scroll down to near the bottom of the page to find the highlighted number). I would be wary, especially since there are so many rock-solid discounters to choose from.

    Website: Perfume Country

Do business with them again: Yes

    Shipped to: US

Comment: They were fast shippers and everything came within three days as advertised in sealed boxes except for the one tester I ordered. I will definitely use them again as they were the lowest price I could find on the web for three of the five bottles I ordered and were within a dollar of the lowest I could find for the other two.

I beg to differ.. just buy a 120ml Creed Millesime Imperial that turns out to be GIT (or Cool Water) in a MI bottle! Really frustrated.. I had spent more than $150 for the MI,and yet extremeperfumes cheated me a whole lot of money.. If just wanna buy fake I rather spending the one on ebay.. The gold bottle was totally awful with the gold flake easily peeling off.. the worst thing is the juice is definitely not MI but instead a rip off GIT or Cool Water.. really shame how they do business like this.. at least the fake ones that I read trough BN has some smell of MI (or Unforgivable) although the smell short-lived.. This scent was not even close.. I'm gonna ban this website forever.. For Creed buyers add this website to ur ban list.. Now hopefully they refund me.. I've just had bad luck

Another german store, which means for those lucky to be part of the EU there are no custom costs.
Good selection. So good in fact I think this store and First in Fragrance cover the niche perfume line altogether, or come pretty damn close to it. At essenza nobile you can expect nice service and you can order samples as well.

I ordered 2 bottles of Serge Lutens and asked them to simply toss in some samples. I had it send to europe mainland so they could rewrap it and send it as a gift to me ( iceland is not part of the EU), so what my lucky mother in law(ish, Im not married) got was:
''A pretty orange/yellow container eith 5ml of Acqua di Parma as well as shampoo of same name

A 'make up' type small bag containing Borghese Activer mud, Daisy Marc Jacobs (4ml), 4 wrapped, presumbaly perfume samples, that look like wrapped sweets and 3 other perfume samples just in glass phials.''

Sounds like she got 4 Bond no 9 samples, 3 additional samples, a generous sample of Daisy, Aqua di Parma and cosmetics samples.

    Not bad he?
But once you get locked into a serious perfume collection, the tendency is to push it as far as you can.

There is practically no customer service. The stock is not updated. If you order something, you will receive it after a few days if they have it in stock. If they don't, then you wil not receive any communication and will find out they couldn't fill your order when you realize your CC isn't charged. The same is true of 1stperfume.com

That sucks since I found a few older frags for decent $$$ on their site and wouldn't mind picking them up.

While I have yet to return any FRAGRANCES to Sephora, I have done so for other cosmetics. No matter where I bought a product - online or in-store - I was able to return the unwanted item IN-STORE, without any problems. Like the reviewer said above, they are not a discounter and you may be able to find better prices on frags elsehwere..... (I recently bought a bottle of Absolutely Irresistible by Givenchy because Sephora was actually only one of 2 online retailers that sold it... they offered it at a reasonable price.... and I had a $10-off coupon to use up.)

I've also recently made a purchase from Scented Monkey.Com . Shipping was fast and I had no problems with my order. Can't comment on their customer service, since I did not have to contact them. Love the fact that they do offer cheap ($2.99 for 1ml) samples for most of the frags they sell.

I've also made multiple purchases of frags from Perfume Emporium.Com . UPS shipping is typical (5 days, since they're on the West Coast and I'm on the East Coast.) Priority Mail is only slightly more, but faster..... So far, I have not had any problems.

On one occasion, I actually got a "free gift" due to a mistake by their staff. I had ordered a 1.7 oz bottle of EDP for around $25. They actually send me a gift set of the same EDP plus a 3.4 oz bottle of body lotion and a small purse spray that retailed for around $39 on their site. I e-mailed (for a "paper" trail) and phoned them about this.... they apologized for the mistake and told me to keep the "extras."

I have ordered a few times from Enchante Perfumes in Canada. Sometimes they carry things I cannot find on other sites and I have had no complaints in terms of customer service. Their prices are fairly good, too.

I have ordered minis on several occasions from Parfum Flacons and have been happy with them as well.

    Default London Bathecary

They have a very large B&M store in Virginia. I live in the TW part of Florida
so do all my shopping with them thru their website
    http://www.shoplondons.com/

I buy primarily old school scents (Penhaligons, Floris) & shaving products, altho they sell a wide spectrum of top brand names. Additionally, the carry
    their product lines in-depth.

For example, they not only carry Penhaligon's scents, they carry their candles, hair care products, shaving products, etc.

Their depth across product lines is very rare nowadays. They carry a huge
number of the very best scent, cosmetic, skin-care lines.

Their reputation is stellar & well-deserved. Customer service is top-notch.

They occasionally (very occasionally) offer e-coupons.

They always have a lot of items On-Closeout at true Blow-Out, Bargain Prices & that part of the website is
definitely worth checking out on every visit.

They offer free shipping (UPS or USPS Priority) on orders over $99. Gift wrap is also free.

They always throw in Free Samples with each order. If you have a specific sample in mind
they try to accomodate your sample request, if they have it. Irregardless, the samples they
send are always the good, expensive stuff.

Living less than a 1000 miles down the coast, I always get my orders in 3 days.

If they have the product I want @ the time I want it, I don't hesitate to
buy from them. I've been quite pleased every time I've done business with them. LOL, I've spend several thousand there.
If I'm every in Virginia a visit to their physical store is definitely on my Agenda.

Quality "stuff" & a quality operation

    Question Fragrancex closed for holidays?

    Hi there

I just made my first order on fragrancex on the 27th. When I track my order, it says it's processing, so I just figured they are closed for the Holidays. The thing is, the website doesn't mention it anywhere and they have already charged the credit card (I used Paypal though). I do admit I'm not the brightest when it comes to online shopping, but if they are closed, shouldn't the card only be charged when they open again? I've thought of calling them, but it's an international phonecall, hence, an expensive call.

And another thing... I know on some websites you can ask for them to try and sell a specific fragrance, is it possible to do that on fragrancex too? I really wanted a perfume that is not there, and needless to say, their prices are tempting and the free international shipping rocks!

And I'm sorry if I posted this on the wrong forum, but I'm still a bit lost in here lol

    Thank you in advance

    Welcome to Basenotes!

I really have no idea but I would expect that the people who work there get holidays off the same as you and me.

If fragrancex has a contact button on their website, it would be best to ask them directly about the availability of fragrances not shown on their site. Most companies try to accommodate their customers.

I have been using The Perfumed Court and I would use them many times over. They package well and I get my samples usually about 4 days after ordering.

Im trying another one called The Posh Peasant ..we'll see how that goes

FragranceNet and perfumeshop.com seem to be the best. Perfumeshop seems to have some things cheaper and fragrancenet seems to have other things cheaper. Plus customer service for both of them is outstanding... Can't go wrong with either.

I want to add a recommendation for directcosmetics.com - when I first found them online I was suspicious of their good prices, so I rang up and spoke to the owner I've ordered from them twice and the delivery has been prompt, prices unbelievably good and juice legit. Will definitely do business with them again. Only downside is that the stock is changeable and sometimes you can get something, sometimes you can't. I guess that is to be expected with a discounter.

I am considering an order thru Fragrance Express Inc; has anyone had any problems ordering thru them? Thanks.

    Hi,

I did some successful orders with them in the past.

However, my last order was not a positive experience, since they didn't have the announced item (an Eau d'Hermés tester) and, when contacted, they promised a refund that didn't happened yet.

    Default I am MAD!

I just received my bottle of Dior Addict EDP ordered from fragrance.net and the bottle leaks everywhere. I was so excited about this...and what a disappointment fragrance.net had to pull on me!

The house literally reeks right now because this is a pretty strong perfume and a large quantity came out through leaking ...and I just want to kill those B......s!

Is this even a trustworthy site? Would Dior make such junk bottles? ...

Needless to say I e-mailed to request an RMA for return - they better refund me to the last penny, even though the package was opened (otherwise this junk would not have become apparent).

The question is...should I even bother ordering from them again? Do people here ever order from this site? Gosh, it looks like every time I find something somewhere for "a bit less" - it must always be for a reason, and a good one for that matter. It's been a long time since I stopped believing in "discounts" ...but money for purchasing everything at Neiman Marcus ...not so much.

I tend to order from just a few ecommerce sites: Scentiments, Parfum1, Beautyencounter and Perfume.com. And I've just discovered some good deals at CosmeticMall.com. I've never had any trouble with these.

I ordered a Norell a long time back from them and it had a broken spritzer that lust dribbled and it also came leaking out of the bottom of the cap. I tried to email them twice and got no reply. I didn't use them again. I recommend beautyencounter highly, I think it is the same as beautifulperfumes, which I also respect. I have noticed they have the same prices and the same hard-to-finds.

also, I noticed that the reviews of the fragrances (ostensibly by customers) on fragrancenet reappear for different fragrances. Pretty sure they make them up.

I ordered from fragrancenet only once, and I have no complaints. I ordered twice from Imagination Perfumery with good results. I have ordered repeatedly from beautyencounter, and I am very happy with them. They ship quick and also have cosmetics--only thing is that their prices are a little higher and I have to pay CA sales tax! I will always look at beautyencounter first.

If you're talking about fragrancenet.com, then yes, I've had great experiences with them. I had one broken sample once, but they had put in some others for free, so no complaints. I do feel that they could probably use better packing materials, such as bubble wrap.

I also like Dior Addict EDP, and agree that it's strong. Good choice!

How frustrating! Most reputable places will give you a refund. I hope this is the case in your situation.

As some others mentioned here, I like fragrancenet.com. They have good prices and customer service.

    Oh dear!
I have ordered from them but never had to ask for a refund so I can't say. I've in fact ordered many things over years, all arrived unscathed.

I ordered from fragrance X once and got a leaky bottle .They IMMEDIATELY sent a new bottle, and did not request that I send the leaky one back, though I offered.

That's to me a model of how businesses should handle these matters. I don't think you should expect or accept less from fragrance.net

As to whether or not you should order from them again--I'd base that on how this is resolved--how quickly, how professionally, etc.

If you shop online a lot, you could occasionally get a bad bottle from anyone. That can even happen in a b&m store, fyi... the question is, were you refused a refund or not?
