    Default LIMES again

Just tested St John's West Indian Lime Cologne and i ABSOLUTELY
LOVE the top lime notes, but ALAS ! It disappears within no time [smiley=sad.gif]

What pure lime fragrance has lime all the way ? I am thinking of the following that I havenít sampled at all. The key word is lime and I want that fresh-squeezed lime *to last quite a while

1)Floris JF (For $40 for a 1.7 oz bottle this better last)
    2)Bond LíHomme
    3)Demeter Lime
4)Llewelynís stardust ( I believe itís hard to find)
    5)T&H Lime
    6)Crown Spiced Limes
    7)Ted Lapidus

Shed some light thou fragrant wise ones !

Which Ted Lapidus, are you asking about, Lapidus Pour Homme?

I think the basenotes pyramid describes it well, there is no lime.

T & H Limes has spice mixed with the lime scent, but it's long lasting, and the lime note stays until the the scent fades completely. The aftershave balm, soap, shampoo, and shaving cream are all really nice too. Using all of them on a summer morning is really refreshing.

Floris JF is a great scent, but probably not "limey" enough for you. It's zesty, but reminds me more of GIT or Crown Marquis then anything else. Lots of bright citrus topnotes, but the drydown has an earthy, cypress character.

    Hope this helps.

    Cheers,

I have both the St. John's West Indian Lime aftershave and cologne and love it to, but it does fade. I've found that layering the St. John's with Annick Goutal's Eau de Sud (that contains a lime topnote too) lets the St. John's fade into a cypress and spice mix that's very close to the original lime, yet lasts.

I have heard that Castle Forbes makes a good lime scent. This is a quote from another board

"Six hours later and I am still being pleasantly reminded of a very subtle limes scent accompanied by a small ensemble of guest notes. This is very long lasting for a citrus based fragrance. It is not the same intensity as the Castle Forbes Limes ASB, but then the ASB will disappear after about 30 minutes. This cologne is not a "in your face all the time" sweet type of lime fragrance. It is an excellent companion to the CF Limes ASB.

The harmonious co-existence of the lime and guest notes results in a pleasant, lingering scent. I find it a very distinguished scent, perfect for a gentleman to finish a shave with and step out into the world. It is suitable for day and evening wear. "

    Gotham,
I'm pretty sure if you call T & H on their 800 number, they will send samples. By the way, try www.ashford.com, they have the cologne for $50. I've bought Grafton and Trafalgar from them and was pleased with the items and the service.
