Add me to the Mitchum unscented votes. I used to go for the roll-on, but now I'm a fan of the clear gel. Nothing else I've tried even comes close.

So effective you could skip a day.

I use Tom's of Maine as well, great product. More expensive than regular since it is natural.

I used to be a die hard fan of degree unscented but they sadly discontinued it. I've been using their milder scented ones til recently and became fed up with them. I purchased a spray version of the crystal rock which doesn't seem to be completely effective. I just got back from lunch and picked up a thing of the crystal solid (the moisten to use kind) and a stick of Tom's. Challengeits has begun!

i finally tried the Mitchum gel, but to be honest it really didn't work good on me....after a regular day of school, wearing a t-shirt and longsleeve, I both smelled some and perspirated....My last deodorant was Lab Series' one, which even after months of use beat the first days of Mitchum easily...

I now wear Degree Power, does a great job and has very minimal smell which stays close. Don't notice it all day.

I just discovered Almay. It was under $3 and it's a fantastic antiperspirant.

Warning: Tom's of Maine unscented was terrible. I don't know if it's my body chemistry or if it's just no good, but I swear it actually made me smell worse and sweat more. I wrote a letter to Tom's and they kindly agreed to refund it, so I'm still a fan of Tom's (just not the deodorant).

I have using Dove original clean which, has very little scent, so much so that I have never perceived any adverse contamination of whatever fragrance I wear and it really keeps me dry and odorless. I will have to try some of the suggestions made on this thread. As usual, diversity of experience, as share here on Base Notes, widens one's horizon.

OMG - I have mentioned that one on another thread or two. Effective, however I noticed that it (and Clarins For Men) build-up on me (and I shower twice a day, every day).

I'm a fan of the mineral crystal deodorants - however these won't keep you dry.

I've recently switched to Dove Anti-Perspirant Deodorant Moisturising Cream (it comes in a stick) and I'm very happy with it.

Um, yeah. Kind of hard to explain. But when showering I'd notice that the deodorant built up over several days - I was never able to wash it off completely - and that's using sorbolene bar, followed by shower gel on a shower puff. My underarms never felt "clean" - they always felt like I still had deodorant on - kind of sticky. It might be fantastic for someone who doesn't shower as often (Yuk!) or maybe just wants to put deodorant on a couple of times a week (double Yuk!).

Currently using Tom's of Maine unscented (though it does have a slight smell), which is working pretty well. Just read a bunch about alum over at Badger and Blade and bought Christal alum deodorant stick (see amazon), haven't used it yet though.

Go with a Thai Deodorant stone. It is mineral salts which inhibit the growth of bacteria, and thus the BO. The stone really works with NO scent what so ever.

@ohmygod, it's the same over here in Malaysia, only the roll on is available and not the stick type.

I used Gillette Series Clear Gel antiperspirant/deodorant quite happily for nearly a decade but I had recently been looking for something chemical-free so I, too, bought the crystal solid one.

It seems to work quite well, with one caveat: I am not sure just how much I should be applying. Because I do not want to risk applying too little, I have been going with five or six application strokes per armpit, which is probably too much.

To jrd4t or anyone else who has used this in the past 2 1/2 years (), how much do you usually apply?

Mitchum unscented gel here, too. I find I need very little of this product and gladly the gel container can accommodate this. I rather large ("30% more free!") stick lasted me just under 2 years.

Beware of the Mitchum unscented gels: they have an "unscented" Mitchum gel for women AND one for men. The one for men has an extremely strong "masking" odor: I don't know how they can call it unscented when it is definitely scented, just not as anything you'd recognize. The Mitchum gel for women has virtually no fragrance, just like Almay's clear gel. I don't get it.

Mitchum solid here, too. My only complaint is--if I put it on right out of the shower, and I haven't totally dried off, it can be a bit slimey. Still works great, though. Might try some of the other suggested, for comparison, in the coming weeks.
