I hope they are just relocating! That complex has some significant reno's taking place, let's hope its a space issue.

Andrews is closing down for good. With the renovations going on at the mall (Hazelton Lanes), they will lose some floor space after the remodeling.

I guess per square foot, the fragrance division brought in less dollars than the clothes division did.

That's a huge blow to the fragrance community in Toronto. I talked to Lynn over a month ago and she did not inform of this, probably just very recent news.

    What a bummer!

Yes, it's sad to see the fragrance dept Andrews be dismantled this way.

The offer is becoming more and more scarce in Toronto, but big things are brewing at a different level; with Nordstrom and Saks coming to Canada soon, expect the fragrance landscape to change significantly.

would anyone know if Andrews would be having a closing sale?

I really want to get Ex Odolo 33 and some amouages.

It all depends on individual vendor agreements. I don't believe Ex Idolo and Amouage would allow for their products to be sold at a discounted price in order not to devalue their brand.

Looks like Pir Cosmetics in Yorkville might have closed it's doors. Walked by there the other day and it was all closed up with the windows covered. Their websites still up though so maybe they're renovating? I wasn't a fan the SA there but they did have a nice selection of niche brands.

I've been in (somewhat) contact with Franchie over the past few months and was actually working on a meetup for the past few months there. He emailed me in August to say that they were going to do a renovation and because the rent kept going up, he's decided to move locations instead. No word yet on where/when he's moving to, and no, I doubt they'll have a moving sale or anything like that.

also just want to +1 to Niche Essence and owner (Kiavash - male) there (and female SA Paris). They're actually the distributor so it's sort of a flag ship / presentation store. He's located it up town so as not to compete with his other vendors.

I'm going to speak with him about hosting the next meet up there instead of Pir since they were so uncooperative.

Sehpora now carries L'Artisan in addition to Serge Lutens and Atlier Cologne....etc. Not sure if this applies to most Sephora locations, but I went to the new relocated Sephora in Square One.

I checked out Niche Essence last weekend and received superb no pressure service. Purchased Interlude Man and sampled several others. The shop is well laid out and every scent I tried was appealing. Very well done and I will be returning...

Another newer Toronto shop is MenEssentials on Danforth. They carry an assortment of Floris, Il Profvmo, Penhaligon's, and Hugh Parsons to name a few. While biased towards male tastes they cater to ladies as well.

I just got back from the Marshalls at Yonge and Gerrard. They had some Tom Ford (White Patchouli, Grey Vetiver, Noir) and Creed (Green Irish Tweed, Spring Flower, and a couple of others ... I forget which ones). Hope this helps someone.

    Hello,

I am currently looking for MPG Amber Precieux. I've checked Holts, and Sephora, no luck. Anybody know a store in downtown Toronto that carries this line? Thank you!

Don't know about TO but The Perfume Shoppe in Vancouver (they ship within Canada) carries the line here. I've seen it in-stock...just don't know if they have any currently. You might have to call and ask...they may order some on their next shipment.

yeah MPG's pretty darn niche, not too many stores carry them. Pir used to have a small random assortment of them ($175 if I recall correctly). I think they're closed or relocated or something now.

Give Naz over at the Perfume Shoppe a call and see what they can do.

If you're blind buying this, message me and meet up instead. I've got bottles and decants of various versions and you're welcome to smell them. If you've already tested this and you know you want it well then nevermind.

I would probably just order it from ebay or amazon if you already know what it smells like. I'm pretty sure PIR is gone now, but you would have paid more for it there anyway.

I could have sworn they also carried them at Putti (a frilly furniture store) years ago...but I don't see them listed on their website anymore.

Pir seems to be closed for a while now, it is no longer on Bellair street. Though their number still works it goes straight to voice mail, and it doesn't say on their website if the store is closed or relocating, either way I think Pir is pretty much done in Toronto.

The Perfumeshoppe in Vancouver is great, I usually order from Naz because her prices are much better, but Amber Precieux doesn't seem to be on her website, so likely she doesn't have it in stock.

I remember that I ordered my bottle of Santal Noble at perfumeemporium.com (US based online retailer) several years back when the CAD was on par with USD, and with a 10%-15% coupon code I remember I paid no more than $90 for it. But the package was stuck somewhere for several weeks, I contacted them and they gave me full refund, and then after another few weeks the package arrived without any customs or duties. But I haven't had any issues with the shipment the previous few times I've dealt with them. The good thing is that their customer service is quite good. Not sure how it is with them now or if you want to take your chances with them, but maybe just another option.

But this line is not overly expensive, and like others have said if you like it just order it online.

Thanks for very much the assistance. Unfortunately, its on waitlist at PE .. I was going to order from luckyscent but they use UPS. I cannot believe the price at PE, I am going to assume these are NOT fake and are in fact genuine products. Do you recall what shipping courier PE uses? It is USPS? If you can't remember no problem, I should contact them!

I can't remember what carriers they used, but it took a month and a half for the Santal Noble to get to me, sounds like possible USPS lol. I was so glad PE gave me a full refund.

I honestly believe their MPGs are not fake, this line isn't expensive to begin with, I just can't see anybody waste their time faking this stuff. I've compared the reformulated Santal Noble that I got against the Vintage 90ml bottle Santal Noble I used to have and they smell pretty much identical. So, authenticity should be good.

But yes, if you do get a chance contact PE and see where they are at.

The Bay in Yorkdale now carries Guerlain Exclusive collections, some of the popular ones have already been sold out, but they have just recently started and will continue to carry the Exclusive collections there. Not sure about other Bay stores. But for anyone who has a hard time travelling downtown to the boutique this might be another source for your Guerlain fixes.
