Default How scent-category savvy are you?

Do you pay much attention to scent categories? The vocabulary's expansive, and hyphenated hybrids are plentiful (Ysatis is said to be a chypre-floral-animalic!). I thought I'd try to label my primary frags, and I'm not totally confident of the results. Each perfumer and author seems to invent their own categories.

Here's your challenge: See if you can sort your favorites using the industry's vocabulary: aldehyde, ambery, animalic, aquatic, chypre, citrus, floral, fougère, fresh, fruity, green, oriental, ozonic, spicy, vegetal.

I probably forgot some terms, so please add on and even invent a few as needed (but only if you're Veronica, Oscar Wilde, or equally witty).

FLORAL: Jo Malone Orange Blossom, L'Artisan La Chasse Aux Papillons
    FLORAL-AMBERY: Stella Rose Absolute
CHYPRE-GOURMAND: Jo Malone Black Vetyver Cafe
    CITRUS-FLORAL: Guerlain With Love
FRUITY-GREEN: Thymes Fig Leaf & Cassis, Fresh Index Cucumber Baie
    FOUGÈRE: Guerlain Jicky
GOURMAND: Bond No. 9 New Haarlem
    ORIENTAL-FRUITY: Chopard Mira Bai
    ORIENTAL: Thierry Mugler Angel

    CHYPRE-GOURMAND: Blv Notte?
    CITRUS-FLORAL: Chance
FRUITY-GREEN: Un Jardin Sur le Nil
    FOUGÈRE: Wrappings, Mitsouko?
    GOURMAND: LMdlV Noire du Mexique
    ORIENTAL-FRUITY: Miami Glow?
    ORIENTAL: Shalimar, Allure, Opium

What category would Eau des Merveilles fit into?

Jan Moran calls Brit a floral-fresh, but I think she must have tested only the top notes. Michael Edwards says it's a floral-oriental, but pear, almond and vanilla would seem to bump it into the gourmand arena. A flor-uity-gouriental?

Apparently Veronica couldn't make it here to join us, but the show must go on. Filling in for Veronica tonight is her understudy, Quarry, with her recitation of useful fragrance terms:

Aldahyde: A homemade gin scent (originated by Hawkeye Pierce, M*A*S*H).
Centri-fougère: Fern scent spun out of control.
Cheapra: Categorized as representing the lifestyle of the wretchin' faux moss.
Civeck: Smells like a cat died in your Honda.
    Corps-iental: Elicits an enlisted essence.
Fem M&M: A candy-coated chocolate scent designed for women.
    Floralibi: An innocent-smelling flower.

Have you met my mother? That was totally amazing! This is one of my favorites:

Imitation of Veronica's Mother on March 27th, 2006
Excuse me, Your Royal Highness. Are we waiting for an engraved invitation?
Didn't know I was heir to the throne, did ya? She don't call me Princess for nuthin'. And please note the use of the 'royal we' * - a special form of X-chromosone donor sarcasm-enhancer which obviously didn't work very well.

Jekyll-hyde: Starts off pleasant enough and then pulls the old switcheroo. AKA Veronica's Mother.

Flora Shafransky: Smells like my neighbor. (I wonder if she Dogpiled or Googled her name, would she find this? Naaah!)

Jeepers chypres: See entry for Civeck above.

I'm starting to get a picture.

    A few more:

Annie-malic: Smells like a dog, specifically Sandy from the Broadway musical.
Ambler: A scent that carries on and on at a resinous pitch.

You beat me to the Jekyl reference, but I'll add my own take on it.
Dr. Jekyl Aldehyde: A synthetic concoction that either turns you on or turns on you.
