Default AG's Songes: more about the notes (+review).

    From WWD.com

    Brand: Annick Goutal
    Name: Songes
Nose: Isabelle Doyen (Aromatique Majeur)/ Camille Goutal

Concept: the aroma of white frangipani flowers at dusk, like Camille Goutal experienced them while on vacation on the island of Mauritius. *Middle and base notes were inspiration from the works of English painter John William Waterhouse, in particular his "Ophelia" painting.

    John William Waterhouse's Ophelia.

Top: frangipani flowers, tiare and jasmine.
Heart: incense, vanilla, copahu balm, pepper and ylang-ylang.
Base: vetiver, sandalwood, amber and styrax.

Songes is already available at Le Bon Marché departement Store in Paris.

I've heard it's coming to the U.S., it'll just take a little longer. By then we'll all be pouncing on it(hopefully those who have access to it now will sell samples on ebay I'll keep my fingers crossed.

I sampled Songes at the Brussels Annick Goutal boutique during my lunch break today.
I'm a bit *:-/ ... Though it's lovely, to me (after Tubéreuse, Passion and Gardenia Passion) it's yet again another tuberose in the Annick Goutal line. Songes is very close to Gardenia Passion, they both share that tropical feeling. It's warm and creamy, there is definitively a frangipani note, but real living fragipani flowers smell fresher (almost citrussy sometimes). Yes, I'm not in heaven but out of all the tuberoses released recently it's one of the best. Compaired to "La Chasse aux Papillons" and "Do Son", Songes is richer and more mature (less girly).
