    Default SpaceNK Melodrama

The UK brand of SpaceNK have recently released a new fragrance to their own range.

Melodrama is a very different from the hoard of newbies hitting the shelves.

    Firstly the perfumer is
Christopher Sheldrake, yes he of the the Serge Lutens range!

Secondly it is a chypre! Now when was the last time we had a new release chypre?

'Melodrama inspired by the allure of classic scents, melodrama pays homage to the golden age of perfumery in the 1920s...

a floral oriental chypre with sparkling top notes of bergamot, orange blossom, french lavender. A floral heart of pink roses, heliotrope, gardenia and jasmine. A mysterious woody base of oakmoss, patchouli and vetiver.'

Melodrama starts with a big hit of aldehyde a little while later the bergamot comes through with a zingy tickle to the nose. It does take a while to settle, then the florals appear not too sweet or cloying.

Think of Jolie Madame with an aldehyde start and not violets but jasmine, roses and gardenia. Usually I dislike gardenia but this is smooth and very feminine.

Only available in edt 50ml at £38 from SpaceNK.

    Have to try this!
I like SpaceNK Woman (also inspired by vintage perfumes) and SpaceNK Man. They also have a nice one with lavender called Stillness.

They have revamped the rest of the range and added two more to the bath and fragrance.
