Has anyone tried the 2 new MAC scents Violetrix and Turquatic yet?

    From Maccosmetics.com

Violetetrix: A mesmerizing fusion of black currant and fragrant fig leaves, cloaked in a velvety blend of violet leaves absolute and orris, exotically laced with soul-warming patchouli, myrrh, amber and incense.

Turquatic: Crisp and energizing! A splash of clear, sparkling mineral water brought to a chill through an infusion of fresh lotus leaves and Corsican cedrat, then finished with a warm blend of anemone, orris and blue cedar.

Hmm... what exactly do those names mean? Turquatic? Violetetrix? I don't think I want to say I'm wearing Turquatic. [smiley=shocked.gif] Anyway, no, I haven't tried them. While I'm not crazy about the name, I like the notes for Violetetrix (how would one pronounce that?).

Violet-trix, as in the breakfast cereal?

    LOL!

I love MV3, so I am definitely excited about testing these. I'm developing a thing for violets and would love a scent that combines violets and orris and incense!

    Thanks for the info!

I was buying a Mac eye pencil last week and spotted these on a shelf.

Sniffed the violet one from the bottle and thought very sweet indeed. In the cause of perfume I promise to spray some cards on saturday when I will be back.

The Hue Turquatic was empty so sorry no idea about that one.

Hue Violetrix is very chemical sweet, the sweetness may possibly be violets but I doubt it.

    Update!
They had a new tester out for the Turq Hue. So I had a spray of it. OMG!!!! If you love aqueous then you may actually like it. Sorry but I thought it was horrible!!!! Smells like every other type of aqueous out there. Stick to makeup Mac.

I just checked out the fragrances on MAC's website. However, they use to have an older version of these perfumes. In green and pink. Are these new launches? Extension from the predessesors?

Anyway, dont think its available in all parts of the world..

There is now even a newer fragrance called C-Squeeze

"Freshly-squeezed and fab to spritz! A sunny citrus and fruit-inspired blend of zesty notes, juiced-up for energy, yet beautifully layered with a pleasure-blend of relaxed, warm and sexy undertones."

Haha.. sounds and looks very 'HAPPY' to me! ~ inspired by Clinique? (just speculating)

Also, its only available in 30ml and not larger bottles.

I got to sample these a couple of weeks ago. I don't remember the details, but I absolutely loved the C-Squeeze and almost bought it. I was also surprised to like the Turquatic, too. I was expecting it to be my least favorite. C-Squeeze, Turquatic and MV5 were my favorites. (I already have MV3.) By the way, I asked the very young and adorable SA if she happened to know the notes. She responded, "Notes? What do you mean? What are notes?" I just stared at her and she said, "These are perfumes, you know that, right?" IS THAT THE CUTEST THING YOU'VE EVER HEARD?! I couldn't help but smile at her, she was so cute and sweet. So I asked her if she knew the ingredients, the composition, of the fragrances. She said, "Oh! Yes, I think they all have vanilla in them." Oh, well... I'll give her this -- she knew much more about the makeup and I bought some lipstick and gloss from her.

Yes LLS, these are perfumes now, not music! *tsk tsk*

That's adorable. It's great that she was nice about it, unlike some sales assistants.

Oh, yes, she was precious. Well, I resisted the temptation of several responses: "Yes, I know they're perfumes. Do you know they're perfumes?" Or my best Forrest Gump: "Mama always said perfume's like a box of chocolates, you never know what you're gonna get." I just couldn't do it to her. Besides, two and a half years ago, I didn't have a clue what "notes" were. [smiley=huh.gif]

Oh LadyLonestar, how you do go on and how cute was that SA? Oh well, with age comes wisdom and knowing when to smile politely and move on. I like the notes to the Violetetrix even though the name sounds like some dominatrix from a cheap porno film. If I liked it, I could never tell someone what I was wearing. I'd never hear the end of it. Mac 2 is nice, a bit sweet thoough and Mac MV3 is a favorite. I should get to the rest.

[smiley=grin.gif] That's funny! Well, how about Turquatic? Doesn't that make you think of a turtle... or a turkey... or worse... that Turduckhen I cook at Thanksgiving. C-Squeeze? I don't think MAC spends a lot of time on names. [smiley=rolleyes.gif]

Most likely that vanilla note the SA mentioned. [smiley=laugh.gif]

I had a quick sniff of Violetrix the other day and I couldn't get the bottle out of my hands quick enough. A wretched poison from hell is what it is. Very sweet and cloying. Horrible.

MV3 is really nice though. Musky and vanillic with a little leather. Like it a lot.
