Very good question, Lady L!
Sublime is definitely one, Coco another... will post a "complete" list later when I have thought this over.
I recently moved and, of course, had to pack up all of my fragrances. As I was packing I was also spritzing and swooning over so many fragrances that I love. I did the same thing as I unpacked them. I have no idea why I don't wear them. I wonder if I have too many? Even if I do, I just don't want to part with them. I wonder if I'm stuck in a rut or if I'm over-protecting my fragrances, keeping them boxed up and, thus, inaccessible? I just don't know. Some that I love but have neglected for a long, long time:
SL Ambre Sultan
Messe de Minuit
Hypnotic Poison
Casmir
Fifth Avenue
Vanisia
Caron Rose
Irma Shorell Rose
Ma Griffe
Fath de Fath
Coco
Paris
Boudoir
Shalimar Light
My Sin
Vol de Nuit
VC&A First
Arpege
Does anyone else have fragrances you love but rarely wear?

"Wovon man nicht lesen kann, darüber muss man schreiben."
One of my absolute favourites is Guet-Apens by Guerlain but as this was a limited edition and is now discontinued I must save my last remaining half of the bottle( I had 3 of them!)
Others I love or used to love but rarely wear (they sit in the back of the cupboard):
Helmut Lang
Boudoir
Metallica
Chanel No 5
Hypnotic Poison
Kenzo Jungle
Tocade
and Gucci Eau de Parfum (this one I hate and cannot wear).
Still no "complete list" but must add Yohji (I'm afraid of running out of it and not finding it anymore [smiley=cry.gif])
"Wovon man nicht lesen kann, darüber muss man schreiben."
Yohji is another one that I haven't worn in ages. I keep it boxed up, too. It just seems to me that I wore more fragrances when I had them sitting out on my dresser. Once I moved them into a closet and also started keeping most of them in boxes, I think I started *forgetting* about them. [smiley=huh.gif]
I have enormous number of mini and regular size bottles that I don't wear or postpone to the future don't know why :-). Wearing one scent I always want to enjoy it instead of changing. E.g. Lolita Lempicka - excellent but waiting in the box............
The one that springs first to mind for me is Cadolle No9. It is a truly beautiful fragrance but I just do not wear it much.
Perhaps because I own the edp which you it seems can no longer get, just the edt.
Narcisse Blanc I fell in love and dreamed of owning and finally I got my little bottle. and this year I think I have worn once.
DONNA
Those in the back of my closet. Too much work to get to them. Ah, life's so difficult... [smiley=wink.gif]
Ahhh, so many. I think, for me, the problem is buying scents that don't really match my lifestyle. I know we're always saying we should wear whatever we like, when we feel like it, but I spend most of my waking hours in an office where I'm one of the only guys. So I usually pick my SOTD thinking about my day ahead.....at work. And that means I'm not usually wearing something deliberately sexy (although it can't always be helped, y'know? [smiley=rolleyes.gif]).
I love wearing my incense-y scents to the library or museum, but how often can I go to the museum? I like citrus-y scents, but tend to wear them only in warm weather, where I rapidly become bored with them. As much as I love chypres, there are times that most chypre don't like me at all.
Geir: beautiful fresh, woody floral scent that seems to require perfect spring weather
Narcisse Noir
Derby: one of the most beautiful leather chypres ever, but clashes with a single drop of perspiration
Ambre Sultan: all sexed up and no place to go
Boucheron Pour Homme: so crisp, rich, elegant (unlike me [smiley=embarassed.gif])
Heritage
Voleur de Roses: I love roses, but almost never think about wearing them
Mystere
Philosykos

But seriously, that sounds so very familliar: I work in an office, too, the bureau is very "male" and "serious" so I prefer to wear something "not deliberately sexy" to work. I often pick a men's scent, a unisex scent, a vetiver scent, a woody scent, a spicy scent, an "innocent" Floral...

There is also a difference between my (casual) lifestyle and the more formal fragrances that I love. Some that I dont wear much just because I feel I need a really special occasion to use them are:
Joy
Arpege
Chanel #5
Coco
Sublime
Eau du Soir
Dioressence
Others that I dont wear much just because they are discontinued and almost impossible to find: [smiley=sad.gif]
Di Borghese
Lauren
Zen (black bottle)
Looking at this list, I realize this is a real shame...I vow to break out the special ones more often, even if there is no special occaison. It'd be a shame to die and leave these all gathering dust. :exclamation
For someone who tries to circulate and be fair by taking turns when it comes to wearing my scents, I do neglect several. Inoui is The One that I cherish the very most in my collection but I don't wear it often because it's so terribly scarce. Coco, Yerbamate, Youth Dew, Nude, Yohji, Maja, Aromatics Elixir, Gap Grass, Bobo, Zoe...good golly! So many of my beloveds get worn infrequently! This blatant neglect has got to stop [smiley=shocked.gif]

I find I go through phases. Sometimes I think I’m not wearing a beloved fragrance enough one year or season, only to have it pop out as one of my most-used in another year. This year/summer Eau de Patou is a good example. Last year I (sadly) thought I might be ready to trade it on. This year you’d have to pry the bottle out of my cold, dead hands before I’d let it go! It’s been perfect for me this summer. Azzura is another one that last year I hardly sniffed out of the bottle. This year I’m spritzing regularly. Unless a beloved starts to suddenly make me feel physically sick, I find it eventually comes back into my rotation. One reason I love to have so many to pick and choose from.
Okay, I must ask- what’s the deal with Ambre Sultan’s ultra-sexy image? I don’t get it. I do think it’s wonderful but it makes me think of taking a winter nap on a comfy couch bathed in late, afternoon sunlight. It’s golden, sweet, warm and snugly. Try as I might, I just don’t get the “sex” imagery from this one. Would like to know what others see in this one though (and could you hand me those rosy-porn-colored glasses please?) [smiley=cool.gif]
Scent is such a lovely, simple pleasure!
Oh, sorry, no can do. I need mine right now. [smiley=laugh.gif]Originally Posted by Artisankey

I like Paul Smith in the green bottle/juice but hardly wear it unless I mow or something. I also love my MI but do not wear it as much as my others.
Lady L. .... I just don't know how you could keep them all boxed up. There are many perfumes I don't wear too often but if I didn't SEE them I'd probably wear them even less! I have to have mine out. Some samples of course are not out but...sometimes I just have to grab and spritz and see how I feel about it and then maybe grab another.
Let's see.......there's quite a few I don't wear too often but......
Paris
Lauren
Private Collection
Sublime
Eau de Soir
Ombre Rose
Oscar
Youth Dew
Nahema
I could go on............Maybe I have so many that I don't get around to them and stick to the favorites....???
It's not something I used to do, but I also didn't have as many way back when. I do decant some of them for my own use, to keep "ready to wear." I'm thinking I need to decant a whole lot more!Originally Posted by glorious1
I bought Shalimar edt ....5 years ago!so,I guess you could say I don't really wear it that often.I really love that fragrance, though, but I feel I need to have a "special" occasion to wear it.It's not a very casual fragrance.Lately I've started to wear it more often![]()
I confess to hoarding my old bottle of Mitsouko EdP, cuz' I don't know what the heck's going on with this alleged reformulation, or maybe not, or maybe they changed it, or maybe they didn't....
Apres L'Ondee
Mitsouko
Vol de Nuit
Pois de Senteur
Angel
Montaigne edt (hoarding 2 bottles of it for some odd reason)
D&G red cap
Now that you remind me, Je Revien's been sitting sulking at the back of the collection,
Ditto Paris and L'Heure Bleu.
Why do we do this?![]()

Here is my list:
So now I suppose I should use it to select my fragrances to wear over the next few weeks and that way I will be able to determine if I am still as much in love with them as I initially was...
Agent Provocateur - (difficulty in finding the right time for it)
Desire - (suppose waiting for winter)
Initial - (worn a lot last year but none in 2006)
Bvlgari pour Femme - (just forget I have it)
Burberry - (this was my most worn last year - don't know what happened)
Amor Amor - (I love this one!)
Eden - (perfer it in cold weather)
Euphoria - (too loud on me for work)
Aromatics Elixir - (don't know why I have not worn it)
Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue - (lasts forever and a day and stays stuck in my hair even after I shampoo LOL)
Black Cashmere - (I find I need a special occasion for it)
Cashmere Mist - (winter scent)
Lipstick Rose - (I want to wear this more, but I forgot I had it)
Youth Dew Amber Nude - (hubby bought it for me, still have not worn it - maybe tomorrow)
Champs-Elysées - (no idea why not - this used to be my 'signature')
Samsara - (waiting for the first snowy morning - my sister and I will both wear it)
Shalimar - (I really should wear this a LOT more)
Sun Jil Sander - (I'm not sure that I love it as much as my 1st bottle of it!)
Poême - (this was my feel good/grown-up scent in 1996-97, oh how I loved it! But this is my 2nd bottle that's been half full for over 5 years)
Deci Delà - (I have to re-test this sometime soon - til then my full bottle will stay full... and how I loved it in 1997)
that's it for now... but I know there's many more I've been neglecting...

Since my perfumecollection is all over the house (somehow I get the feeling I need an extra room), it is quite normal that I 'forget' what I have. Out of sight....And indeed storing almost everything in the box is an extra handicap for me. Think I am just a bit lazy. But these are the worst cases, I think (for my peace of mind I better forget the other sad beauties, crying for attention)
Must de Cartier (pure extrait, old version)
Chanel no.5
Guerlain - Chamade
Creed - Royal Delight
Dolce & Gabbana (the original)
Etro- Ambra
Guerlain - Samsara
Parfum d'Hermes
Parfum d'Empire - Ambre Russe
POTL - Luctor et Emergo

I haven't worn Mitsouko, Shalimar, or Jicky in a long time...and I'm ashamed to say I have coveted frags that I have never taken out of the box much less worn...which is a bit compulsive.
I will vow to do a Guerlain week really soon.
Lanvin's Éclat d'Arpège, i bought it a long time ago and i wore the thing 2 times at the most, love it, but i never seem to pick it up anymore...
also, Yardley's Magnolia...
there are so many more..
Oooh, I have my nearly full bottle of Bandit, but there never seem to be the right moment to wear it. I wore it once to work and people thought I'd borrowed it from my husband.
Also my bottle of Rhubarb from CdG is one I rarely seem to use, although it's a favourite. It seemed perfect for springtime, but then it turned too hot too quickly and I sort of forgot about it.
Some of my very favourite fragrances of all time are those that I grew up with and I never wear them because they are (or were at some stage) the signature scents of someone I am close to:
Givenchy III (my mother)
Opium (best friend's mother)
Youth Dew (sister)
Y by YSL (an aunt)
