    Default Bamboo centered scents

Can anyone suggest some scents that are centered around or have one of the main ingredients of bamboo?

I have not sampled it,so I don't know if Byblos Bamboo offers what its name suggests.

Maybe test out Hei by Alfred Sung. It begins with a bamboo / mint accord and keeps quite low key green until its mahagony base. I think it does remind me of bamboo.

Seek out Calvin Klein's Truth Pour Homme and ST. Dupont's Essence Pure PH. They're like each other and very heavy on bamboo.

    Hey Chris,

I have Truth, but, alas, it last all of 30 minutes on me. Really sucks.

    Cool Re: Bamboo centered scents

I get some bamboo in Mat Male, though it really isn't much dominant in this one, but i can get occassional whiffs of it, so you might wanna give it a shot.

Yes, Mat;Male is the one that I have now and I really really like that. I want to find something like that but with maybe a more dominant bamboo scent.

Yeah, kind of. But not quite so cylindrical.
It's not a scent I go for, but bamboo seekers
    should check it out.

Susanne Lang makes an interesting Bamboo. I smelled it at Nordstrom, San Francisco, but I don't know if other Nordstrom stores carry it.

I had a fragrance constructed with it, her Green Tea, and her Ambergris. You can have any combination of her scents mixed for you, and the price varies depending on how much you get. I got three 9-ml. roll-ons for $90, but I think you can get a 50 ml. spray for $150.

Anyway, her Bamboo is very fresh and slightly floral-woody. I liked it by itself, and found it intriguing in the combination I mentioned. Check it out if you get a chance.

I think Bamboo is a house-note of Kenzo, I detect it in most of his fragrances. Kenzo Pour homme has the most distinct bamboo green scent, but its accentuated by a beer-note at the base, making it very masculine.

Kenzo use to give out these woodchips sprayed with Kenzo pour homme wrapped in a plastic. I remembered smelling it and thinking how good the scent is, only to realise that on my skin it smells like the beach.

I am not good at describing scents. I just know I like this one a lot. It's not very complex, but a good summer scent.

Yes, the original bottle is also shaped like a bamboo. Too bad, it's been discontinued.

The new bottle with a simplistic design looks good too.. I don't really like Kenzo pH though.. Smells a little like rotten seaweed sometimes.

Hmm I don't get that. What I get that's closest to being a bamboo note is a dry cedar note from what I can remember. I'll go wear it again another day to see if I can get it!

    Wink Re: Bamboo centered scents

I wanna say "212 Men", but you probably own that one.

I say try Comme des Garcons "Odeur 71".
It has a lot of bamboo juiciness.
There's also 70 other notes too, I guess.

You may not like it, so go for a decant since the bottle is large (necessary due to slightly weak longevity) and around $200 USD.

But it is sublime and a "must smell".
Like "Truth" minus the grass (and plugged into an electrical socket).

I remember when this scent first came out, an article I read mentioned that Bulgari wanted to create a scent for men that centered around Asian properties, a clean composition made around bamboo. Perhaps I was influenced after reading this, but since then I always believed I smelled bamboo in it. Funny I don't get a cedar note though, probably because I interpret it as being a more sharper note.
