    Yes, they sound interesting but have you seen her prices! Yikes. I think I will stick with the cheaper L'Artisans and Montales.

    A few sound quite wonderful. I know she offers a reasonably priced sampler. They have been on my list to try. She also has a pretty good blog.

    I suspect she uses mostly natural ingredients, which is probably part of the reason for the cost.

    I just put my name on her email list. Her fragrances sound a bit like Strange Invisible Perfumes, but not as over-the-top in the descriptions of them. All it takes it one good review...and I'm hooked.

    Ayala, (beautiful name by the way), while I can't afford a fragrance wardrobe at the moment (I am struggling with a new business myself that is completely unrelated to fragrance...well, except that I wear fragrance while I work!), I was wondering if there is any way we as Basenotes members can help you succeed? It is so wonderful that you are following your passion and if it means we can help, just let us know. I can add a link for you website to mine. Maybe someone can get you reviewed by Chandler Burr?

    Let us know!!!!

    Kelley,

    First of all - I wish you all the best with your own business! And I am sure wearing gorgeous perfumes that make you tremendously happy will make it succeed!

    Thank you so much for offering to help! Small businesses such as my own rely heavily on word of mouth. So of course - and perfume reviews are really helpful - so posting reviews on Basenotes' directory as well as on Make Up Alley* can help a great deal - that, of course, is not to say that I would refuse to be reviewed by Chandler Burr if you have any connections

    The second thing that can be of great help: Tell me about your favourite perfume boutique!
    I am hoping to start distributing my line in select retail outlest. So if any of you Basenoters know of a really great, small scale (aka not a chain) but high-end perfume boutique in your area, that you think will be interested in carrying my line) - that would be awesome! Email me with the name and contact info of the store at ayala@quinta-essentia.ca - and if the store that you suggested will end up carrying my line, I will give you either a full bottle of parfum extrait of your choice, or a Perfumed Pendant with your favourite solid perfume!

    * Just to clarify the whole MUA thing: if you search for a review of Ayala Moriel Parfums, you won't find any until someone actually posts a review; To post a review - click on "Write a review";
    pick the "Unlisted Brand" and the "Fragrance" category from the drop down menu;
    Click on "A" and there you will see a list of all the Ayala Moriel fragrances;
    Click on the one you want to review, and add your review to MUA!

    Many thanks and warm regards,

    Hi czesc
    I'm actually an old timer, didn't post much, and got completely confused when the changeover occurred, and joined the easiest way. I think my old name was Pure Perfume. Heck I go back to the late 90's when Grant started all this, but I was mainly a lurker then. Grant was even a member on my yahoo group for natural perfumers a couple of years ago.

    Ayala and I are both perfumers, and friends, so understand sometimes we get a little excited when something good happens for the other, so we post...and people always confuse our names, which is funny.

    Sorry it took so long to reply to your post, but I'm notoriously spacey when it comes to following threads, and MUA totally confuses me, so you'll never see me there, just here, POL and some blogs.

    Nice web site Anya. The colourful bottles look most tempting and the notes listed sound quite delicious!

    I personally don't mind some synthetics in my frags, but full respect to all the natural perfumers out there. I might start investigating that niche some time

    Glad also to hear that Ayala Moriel got good reviews for her stuff. I would love to be a perfumer in another life! Creating something beautiful and unique in scent must be a wonderful feeling.

    To be honest, from a personal perspective, those type of scents are probably out of my "price-range". But if I had more disposable income I might buy them, because from what I can read, they appear to be quality concentrated parfum extraits and stuff. You probably only need one drop to last for ages, unlike so many modern commercial scents that you have to spray and spray all day long in order to keep any sort of sillage going.

    Also on Ayala's site I see you can get a sample for $5. That's fairly reasonable for an extrait.
