Default Duc de Vervins- do I really need it?

What is the concensus on DdV? I hear it compared to Drakkar Noir.

I like Drakkar Noir, and its sweeter and less-in-your-face cousin Francesco Smalto even more.

Is there anything that Duc de Vervins has to offer that isn't already offered by the other two?

Its price tag isn't exactly alluring by comparison- thoughts?

It's a board-room fragrance. Very formal, maybe too much so. A scent for the older gentleman, without trying to start a debate about "young" and "old." As usual, if you like it, wear it.

For this type of fragrance I prefer the original Dunhill for Men.

    Great bottle though.

I tried it ages ago and liked it quite a lot. However, I didn't think that it was bottle worthy. I think it was only available in 100ml or something like that, and I much prefer 50ml in anything, otherwise boredom sets in.
