    Default Recommended for romantic wear?

    what does it really mean?

it always makes me laugh cause i guess everyone has a diff. opinion on what is "romance" so i've always wondered what the hell was the ad person or PR person thinking when they came up with that line....for sex? for a late evening dinner with the stars? for watching an ivoy-merchant movie?

I guess it depends on the context, the cultural background the woman (or man) has (for some reason, at least here in france, i have the impression that leather scents are only enjoyed by high class people, whether people with low income or education are more up for sweet scents), and simply the person who's wearing it (i wouldn't wear scents like Azzaro PH or Kouros, it would just seem... odd on me).

I think Monsieur Rochas could be a safe option for a first date with someone you don't know too much about.
    Egoïste could work very well.
Get something fresh if you're not sure.
Well, i think each moment and rendez-vous is unique and you should always on the spot actually.

As far as fragrances go, I think 'romantic' means that the fragrance in question has two characteristics:

    1) pleasant
    2) distracting

If it's unpleasant, then distracting is just a multiplier for how bad it is. If it's nice, but nobody notices it, then I don't count it as romantic. If the people around you find themselves catching pleasant sillage from time to time, stopping and sighing, that's romantic wear.

From my wardrobe, I'd say the 'romantic' fragrances are:

    Obsession
    Bel Ami
    Royal Aoud
    Envy
    Roma Uomo
    Z-14
    (maybe Rive Gauche)

I don't wear them to work.

What was the ad person thinking? The advertising industry uses romance and sex to generate more sales. That's what the ad person was thinking.

Christian Dior's Bois D' Argent. It's an intoxicating, romantic scent.

I take 'romantic' to mean a special occasion, such as going out for a meal at a good restaurant. Generally, I find the orientals are most suited to this type of occasion.
