    Question Abbreviations

    Forgive me if some (or all) of this stuff is elsewhere in the community.

    However, I thought It might be useful to gather together a list of short-cuts and abbreviations as related to fragrances, that are new and/or incomprehensible to us newbies.

    For example, I've seen "NIB" (which I presume means either "New In Box" or "Not In Box") and MUA (which I have no idea what it means).

    Some of you out there in internet land who have been at this a little longer than me may have some more abbreviations to add. Perhaps you may wish to include abbreviations as well as words we may not be familiar with, such as you might use when writing detailed analysis of the composition of fragrance notes?

    Any takers?

    SIB = Sealed in box
    HG = Holy grail

    Question Re: Abbreviations

    I got this message when clicking on the link: "musse, you do not have permission to access this page etc".

    The MUA-link worked, though.

    The link doesn't work for me either. Maybe it's just Grant messin' with our heads?

    In the meantime, here's the link to MUA's abbreviation directory: http://www.makeupalley.com/board/lingo.asp

    A P.S. especially for QuietEarth:
    Love your user name--Not just because it begins with a "Q" and there are so few of us; and not just because I live next to an active quarry that dynamites on a regular basis so quiet is a luxury to me; but because it says something absolutely beautiful about how we can experience this planet.

    Thank you for your kind words, Quarry! Us "Q"'s have to stick together! As for the username, it just seemed somehow ... appropriate. I'm glad you like it.

    And thanks everyone for all your help! So far, so good!

    No, but I LOVE that movie. And the book. The author came to visit our school one day, many moons ago, and had a talk. Ah, those were the days...
