    Default Narcisse Noir/Coco Chanel

So normally I don't do this, but my internet search has been in vain. First, is there a non-boutique store that carries this scent? I know its not one of the "urn scents" so it should exist somewhere in a brick and mortar store, but I just don't know where.

I'm trying to track it down to test it, as I don't particularly like sinking alot of money into an unknown fragrance as a poor college student. If I like Coco Chanel, would I like Narcisse Noir? Alot of threads seem to mention both, but not necessarily at the same time.

I guess to summarize: is there a brick and mortar store that normally carries Narcisse Noir to test, and do you think I would like this before I went out of my way to do so? Or should I just break down and get a decant instead? Much appreciation in advance.

As far as Narcisse Noir, you can get samples from Caron for $5 each. Their telephone number is: 212-319-4888. The sales people are very nice (at least that has been my experience.) You can even try NN in parfum concentration- probably in all the different concentrations if you want to..

As far as liking both Coco and Narcisse Noir- it's impossible to tell. I know Tigs likes both, however I really love Coco but wasn't moved by NN. They are both rather dramatic fragrances and I think you need a bit of "personality" to pull either of them off. Past that, all you can do is try them on your skin and see what you think.

    Have fun!

That's pretty awesome that you can buy samples of any of the scents directly from them. I think that will be what I'll do, thanks much for the answer! I'll probably post again about this once I get my samples to let everyone know what I think.

You'll never know until you test both on your skin.

Like Key said I have and love both. What they have in common is the orange blossom note and that both are BIG and rather "demanding" frags.

Try to get the parfum as the edt is quite unimpressive unfortunatley. Narcisse Noir is very big on the orange blossom and civet.
