    Default Looking for "Pine" recommendations

    All,

I've been looking for some colognes with a pine note. I happen to love L'Artisan's Fou d'Absinthe; I question the longevity (I welcome comments). I also happen to really like AdP's Cypress; wonderful stuff. Zagorsk...skunky.

I want to know if anyone has recommendations? Please note, pun intended, that I am not looking for a "woody" scent, ie, Sequoia, Bulgari Homme, etc.

    Pino Silvestre.
    This IS pine.

It is a classic and is very reasonably priced. It has incredible longevity. It isnt very refined but is a beautiful fragrance.

If you want pine, then look no further than Polo (green bottle). Far as I know the notes are:
    top: pine
    middle: pine
    basenotes: more pine
I believe last time I looked that what it said anyway.

Cypres Musc, and Epicea. Two pine/fine scents which wont give you a chance to question their longevity.

Polo Green is a decent pine scent, but smells unrepined compared to Cypres and Epicea.

Wow, some of these I've never even heard of! Yes, I have tried Epicea and frankly, I probably would not have considered it to be a pine scent because it was medicinal to me. I may have to get another sample to retest.

Thanks for your suggestions, I've got a lot of homework!

Pine is one of my favourite wood notes.

    1. Guerlain Aqua Allegoria Winter Delice
    2. Comme des Garcons Incense Series Zagorsk

    These both are wonderful.

Another thumbs up for Blenheim Bouquet. One of the finest pine fragrances that I have ever had the pleasure of wearing. It also has fantastic history behind it too.

I've always found Versus Uomo (the original one with the Marlon Brando packaging) had sweet, yet very piney, quality to it.

It's discontinued but easily found on ebay for VERY cheap, so it may be worth it just to have as a back-up.

it may be cheap, but Aspen really does smell like pines. if you're not snobby about where you purchase your fragrances, than at least give Aspen a try. (you can find some at a CVS, maybe Brooks.)

My favorite is Blenheim Bouquet of the pineys. Acqua di Selva is (usually) a bit less costly but sometimes I have duration problems with it.

I've got Blenheim's Bouquet, but it is not my favourite pine scent - it doesn't last long enough on me.

Versace Green Jeans is my favourite.
And Puig's Agua Brava is usually very cheap and much pinier than Blenheims.

Polo Crest and Caron's Yatagan are two other great ones.

I'd like to add CdG Calamus to this thread of suggestions. One does without exceptions start to think of sap juice from green stems paired together with the freshest bamboo. But wait a while and you'll notice that pine needles also has been added to the mix. If you want to stay clear from the woody categories, this might be the perfect way. If you can find it...

I stumbled upon one surpringly...Miller Harris' Citron Citron (thanks VJ!). It had a strong citrus opening, however, I thought it was a dead ringer from B. Bouquet. Anyone else notice the similarity?
