Default What was your best blind buy?

Not a decant or a sample but a full size bottle of something that you have NOT tried before.

I heard so much about it and decided to go for it. It is my favorite goumand made by a designer.

I bought a lot of bottles blind when I started this hobby. When I think back I think it was New Tabarome which I bought at full retail price and had absolutely no clue how it smells. It was my very first Creed.

Two of my most loved Guerlains - Habit Rouge and Héritage - were stone cold blind buys.

I've purchased/swapped so much blind and I've rarely been disappointed. I tend to do a bit o' research here before going blind though.

Going blind is part of the fun for me, but I wouldn't expect many to care for the roller-coaster ride.

I tend to do a lot of research before a purchase, nonetheless "Crown Imperial" has been my best blind purchase so far, its more of an acquired taste i.e. its not for everyone

nearly all of mine have been blind buys...only a decant of yohji homme has led to finding a large bottle......carlo corinto vetyver was a cherished decant that led to a bottle purchase and now the only other decant that longs for a bottle purchase is again a cherished decant of heritage edp<which i looked for after buying heritage blind>...

the first most influential blind purchase was L'Anarchiste<an all time favorite>....it immediately took me by surprise and influenced the direction of my interests...jean pascal is another that has become a close friend and was purchased blind...

My successful blind buys were: Kingdom, Bandit, Black Cashmere, Dioressence, and Habanita.

But, I bought them on ebay, so I did not pay full retail for them. That made them a little bit less of a risk, I guess.
    I've trademarked the color bleu

I would have to say without doubt KL by Karl Lagerfeld

Guerlain Vetiver was also a very good, versatile blind buy.
