Default NEW: Kenneth Cole RSVP (with no ozonic notes!)

    From our friends at NowSmellThis:

Kenneth Cole is coming out with a new scent called RSVP. Unlike previous boring Kenneth Cole scents (we're looking at you, Signature), this one actually sounds somewhat interesting.

Top notes: lavender, grapefruit, pepper, wet grass
    Middle notes: iris, orchid, cedarwood
Base notes: sandalwood, patchouli, vetiver, cashmere

RSVP will launch in November exclusively at Saks Fifth Avenue and Kenneth Cole boutiques... a much wider rollout will be coming in early 2007. The ad campaign will be fronted by Bon Jovi.
    Top 5 for Fall:
    1) Straight to Heaven - By Kilian
    2) New York - Nicolai
    3) Terre d'Hermes
    4) Aventus - Creed
    5)
Flower of Immortality - By Kilian

The notes sound interesting but at the end, IMHO, It'll be another boring/poor longevity scent. I lost my faith in KC fragrances...

sounds like it will be terrible, frankly. All I imagine that wil be smellable is that grapefruit, so we'll have the typical kenneth cole kool-ade concoction. Alas, I'm not expecting the "wet grass" or "cashmere" to make much of an appearance. Shame, too, those are some of my favorite notes in all of perfumery

The name is really funny/original if you think of it, and I hope the scent will produce the same feeling!

I'll definitely check it out, but as others in this very thread have mention -I've kinda lost faith in Kenneth Cole fragrances.

I have a few of his line that just sit untouched. Reaction, to me is a horrid Jolly Rancher mess on top, then dries down to....well, nothing -so it just sits there. I also have tried Signature -same thing, just seems like a spicy version of Reaction "to me". However, I own a bottle of Kenneth Cole Black -in my opinion, Black is the most wearable fragrance from his line. I can only hope RSVP is something very special, otherwise I will not mess with it.

Thanks for the heads up though.

For Kenneth Cole, I'd have thought RSVP meant Really Sucky Vaporous Poo-Poo.

Let's hope this one is much better than the recent releases...

part of the proceeds of the sales of RSVP will go to various charities that Jon Bon Jovi supports, including Habitat for Humanity.

this is a link I was sent by the official Bon Jovi site...I hope it's ok to post here! If not, someone can delete it...

Have any of you tried this yet?

It's totally boring, and a complete NON-departure from Signature and Reaction. Exactly as expected.

I think I even made a post about how boring it was a couple of weeks ago when I first tried it.

Don't even bother picking up the bottle to test it.
    Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah

    Yes.

Tried it, hated it. Leave it to Kenneth Cole to ruin decent-sounding notes and come up with this joke of a scent.

Yes! It was one of many samples that Dillard's sent me. It's not great at all people, beware of this "RSVP". You have been warned!

Tested it this past Friday, its coffee-woodsy-ambery notes grabbed me, but then it morphed into something sporty green...a Polo Double Black rival. I'm probably still in the minority, but I'm not a fan of Double Black and to me RSVP made a better impression, but I don't think it's worth a bottle. The scent was mostly gone in an hour and a half...aftershave disguised as an EdT! SHEESH!
