Default Must try 'clean' niche fragrances?

Similar to the thread by "That_Douchebag" ...

I know that clean smells get the overall thumbs down here on BN, but I am a big big fan of clean smelling fragrances as is my girlfriend and sometimes, let's admit it, we aim to impress our other halves rather than ourselves!

So, I've smelled a lot of clean designer fragrances but none have anywhere near the required longevity, sillage or class I would look for.

What would your recommendations be based on the fact I'm looking for a "clean" fragrance, with a "warm" undercurrent and an X-factor which places it aside from every other Tom, Dick and Harry... (the warmth aspect is crucial - the aspect of a fragrance that allows it to arrive at one's nose with "warm waves")

    Thanks

    Aventus comes to mind?
I always associate fresh with clean for some (probably shower gel induced) reason.

Other than that maybe Blenheim Bouwet or Amouages Ciel ph.

L'Anonyme by A Lab on Fire
    Tam Dao
Mugler Cologne (not niche, but deserves the hype)

Clean and warm makes me think about white musks.

Some of the white musk series by Tom Ford perhaps?
For $$$$, most Arabic houses also have white musk oils (eg Amouage, ASAQ, Arabian oud). Most of them have a store in London.

PS for cheap and non-niche, there's always the wonderful White Linen by Estee Lauder

Nasomatto Silver Musk - long laster, premium price.

The entire Gendarme line, especially EDP, 20, and Grabazzi. Grabazzi is the longest lasting of them, dries down to a LAVA soap type smell.

CB I Hate Perfume has an entire section of soap essences - strong but not very long lasting.

Start it off with a thorough scrubbing using Imperial Leather Soap. I wish they made a frag based on that.

Also, you can look at this route http://www.saveonscents.com/index.php/cPath/291_298_332

Someone found the Irish Spring one to be pretty accurate http://www.basenotes.net/threads/279...ish-Spring-Oil

    Comme Des Garcons Sherbet: Cinnamon
    Odeur 53
    Lalique White
    Geranium Pour Monsieur
    (minty opening, clean musky drydown)
Givenchy Insensč (while it's not niche it could still fit the bill)

Serge Lutens L'eau. Wonderful stuff. Very long-lasting, complex, interesting. A big hit with females when I wear it. Requires several wears before you "get it." Highly recommended.

This. I sampled MDCI's Invasion Barbare earlier today... as clean as clean gets. Try Sonoma Scent Studio's Egyptian Musk Oil too; I visualize the whitest, cleanest oxford shirt ever when I smell that one.

    Also suggest:
    Heeley's Sel Marin+
Houbigant Fougere Royale (2010 relaunch EDP)

A clean, fresh niche fragrance with warm undertones and class in spades ?

    Amouage Ciel man
(don't let the bitter lavender & Rose topnotes put you off, this one dries down to the most delicious combo of white florals, white muscs, sweet spices, citrusy/piney frankincense, light sandy woods, and a wonderful peach note, as well as a wonderfully stealthy aquatic undercurrent to the entire composition. Sillage and longevity are great......it's an Amouage.

    Prelude to Love by Kilian
(a pleasingly clean, PERFECTLY UNISEX citrus/spice/floral/musk with surprising sillage and longevity)

    Amouage Arcus
    - a wonderfully green, semi-sweet, fresh fruity aquatic that is a noticable step above your usual fruity aquatic. Notes of Lychee fruit give the base a real unique presence in a room.

Cereus #4 is the best apple scent IMHO, and it has a definitive "Warm lemon/verbena" undertone to it that many like. has a pleasingly unique smooth floral heart of marigold/chamomile....Dries down to a clean combo of fruit, green vetiver, and light dry woods.

Older batches of MI used to have a warmer/fuller drydown, the new batches are thin and insipid by comparison. But I think you already have MI.

Another designer I would suggest, as it is a very clean, pleasantly warm white musc/aquatic/green scent....Gai Mattiolo Uomo...imagine folding towels fresh out of the warm dryer.....now add a fresh white floral note, and a tiny dab of licorice/basil.

I'm guessing we've got different interpretations of "clean."

Original Vetiver and Silver Mountain Water come to mind.

Also Baie de Genivre and for me, Habit Rouge EdP.

Silver Mountain Water all the wayyy!!!
I use two sprays before going out. If I apply it much earlier, the scent dies down a bit The smell is amazing, but the longevity could use a little work. Still smells soooooo good! I highly recommend it.

Love some parfums d'empire, Cuir Ottoman feels clean to me (bizarre isn't it?), Eau de Glorie and even Equistrius.
Michael Storer's Djinn have some soapy quality to it.

Thanks everyone, gives me a lot to try

I tried The Body Shop's White Musk to see if this is what I'm after and yes, this is it! Will definitely be delving in to white musk scents.

Any of your suggestions close to a white musk vs. SL's L'eau ?
