I think I received this exact same bottle after you returned it!
(seriously)
I returned it, needless to say.
minor point: Its very very unlikely that someone would figure out how to open a spray bottle without destroying it, dillute the fragrance inside, and then seal it back up to sell it. If the smell was different, it is much more plausible that A. the ebay fragrance was a full-tilt fake, or B. (the very MOST likely scenario) that it was simply older than the retail bottle at the store, and the topnotes had started to age and thin out.Originally Posted by chadmwgarrett

I have to say I think this is a huge load of hype. I serioulsy don't belive there are people out there faking Creed bottles to almost perfection.
Designer fakes are easily identifiable as the bottle is very cheap and obvioulsy not how it should be.
Well thats my opinion

Got my bottle of Creed today...definitely a fake. As soon as I saw the box it said Green Frich Tweed. Sending it back today. It actually doesn't smell bad, but I would like ot know what a real GIT smells like.
This sucks because I got ripped off for a fake.
P.S. don't buy from Bisys00
can you let us know how it goes? If I buy my GIT it will be from scentiments as well. Let me know if it is a fake or not and how it smells. Thanks.Originally Posted by chadmwgarrett
Hey everyone.. yea i bought my GIT and Dolce from scentiments havent got them yet but on the creed man they have the best prices for an online store.. Like i said i have bought my Imperial from fragrance net and about 20 other frags for me and my g/f the only they all seem authentic to me.. and having 3 diff bottles from 3 diff people.. 1 being fragrancenet my imperial, 1 is my santal that came from a fragrance store here in oklahoma, and 1 tabarome from ebay all bottles are identical and frags seem to be legit however the tabarome has the odd writing on it about toilet water and stuff not sure about that anyone else have tabarome that could enlighten me? To the 2 peeps that have bought stuff from bisys00 .. I just bought my himalaya sunday hoping it will come soon this week. I think bisys00 is selling fakes personally after reading all this. I mean the guy is unloading bottles of GIT and himalaya along with angel for women at starting price of 9.99 he also blocks his feedback so you cant read anything from other buyers about the items they bought but surprsingly is a powerseller and a 97.9 feed back rating.. either he has some legit or people buying this stuff from him are stupid.. not sure but will soon know. Ive seen him in the past doing the same thing with different frags.. DOnt know what he is doing but he sells the same ones for a while.. My order from scentiments will be here friday and I am very hopeful they are legit i mean they are an online retailer with a legit business they wouldnt be making it by selling fakes. Let yall know friday.. As far Bisys00 goes maybe he is selling bunk GIT and good Himalaya dont know but hoping didnt get ripped off.. Personally the only people at this time i would recommend as legit just from my experience is fragrancnet.. but then again i think i order some dolce from them too that was weak.. not positive ive order so much from them.. Im glad we are on the hunt to take down the fraud creed going around... Also bisys00 isnt very good about letting you know its been shipped.. I guess the one guy above got shafted on some GIT not looking good at this point.. I smelled himalaya probably a year ago.. vaguley remmeber the scent but thought i got a good deal at 30 bucks not bad for a 4.0 but ive been shafted by ebayers before and i should have known better...

Ok i think we have a bunk seller on ebay not 100 percent until i actually get my bottle sure but see Fake Creed listed below in silmilar posts looks like our friend had some issues back in july.. Bisys00 has had problems in the past with the board and looks like he is still passing stuff off.. Im just glad i only spent 30 bucks on the stuff.. Ill await and see if i get legit stuff or not.. If we get bunk stuff we need to take him down.. the only thing that sucks is he hides his feedback so no one can read it.. we probably should notify ebay and creed as well about the seller
and to furthermore after reading simliar posts FAKE CREED here is what 2 people said about the stuff they got from Bisys00 looks like were getting some fakes or some old crap...
I got my SMW from bidsys00. It is absolutely FAKE. The sprayer is not the correct size, the juice smells WATERED down, and the engraving on the cap is not even close. Also, the white paint is peeling off the bottle. It is complete shite. The white paint is not even applied evenly. I emailed him for a refund and reported the item as counterfeit to ebay.
The guy replied, and based on what he said the result makes sense. He says that his stuff is leftover stock from stores and that he doesn't know how old or fresh/not fresh it is. Makes perfect sense. While he could have been friendlier, he did at least offer me a refund. After everything is said and done with the refund he will definately be getting feedback that notes the poor quality of the juice.
I think what these guys do is knowingly sell shitty fakes, and simply issue refunds for the ones that he gets called out on.
They probably have such a good ratio, it doesn't matter, as they simply resell the returns anyway.
Terrible about shipping/other notifications, slow customer service overall.
Scentiments.com is legit. I've ordered several bottles from them, including a Bdp flacon, Green Valley, and Original Santal, and all have been authentic and fresh. Wonderful customer service, best prices, and good selection. They could restock more frequently, but overall very reliable and satisfactory experience.
Lately I've been wearing:
Windsor, Bois de Santal, Original Santal, Elixir, Douro, Endymion, Reflection, Arcus, Marwah

bisys00 has his feedback private and has a "no negative feedback" policy. that should be a warning right there to any saavy ebay buyer.
I just left a negative feedback for bisys00...I sent him an email saying this was fake, and I'm sending it back. He told me to ship it USPS....there was no argument, he knows that he's selling fake Creeds. Thanks for this post.
good to hear about scentiments.. thankfully.. bisys00 i am not looking forward too.. hey muchisgiven how long did it take u to get the bottle? where are u located? just curious on shipping
I'm located in brooklyn...it took one day because he is located in brooklyn as well. The return address is a P.O. Box. So he's local for me
ok im in oklahoma so should be here by friday.. you got the GIT right?
is there a thread for legit online retailers to purchase from other than neimans? i think we should complie a list of legit online stores.. I know fragrancenet is legit.. ive compared my imperial to the one at my local frag shop and they are fine.. i mean its like anything you buy.. diamonds.. watches.. clothes.. when you buy retail your paying a 200-500 precent markup on it.. no diss to neimans great store.. but why pay 200 for a bottle when i can get the same stuff for 80.. its just finding those legit online stores that you can trust is the hard part.. and dont buy off ebay.. i bought some incanto dreams for my g/f off ebay it was pefrect but the mens stuff i bougth has been doubtful.. i used to by tanning cream off ebay too.. same thing as frag the people mix stuff into it like regular lotion and make 10 bottles out of 1 real bottle..

Hey...can we get a compiled sticky of legit online fragrance sellers?
well i finally got an email from bisys00 with my shipping info paid for the stuff on sunday and is finally shipping out tomorrow.. what gives... he expects payment in 24 hours but takes 3 days to ship it out.. not happy.. hope i dont get burnt and at least get a decent bottle...
Hey chad...i just returned my Green Frich Tweed to bisys00 today. I made sure I put a delivery confirmation on it...so that I could know that he's gotten it back, and I can get my refund.
I just bought one from scentiments and I'm praying that it is an authentic one, or I'll be shipping it right back.
i have alot of faith in scentiments.. i mean they are a legit online retailer of all kinds of frag.. you dont stay in business if your selling bunk stuff.. My scentiments will be here friday let you know how it goes.. i am anticipating the himalaya from bisys00 i wonder if there are any fakes of it going around.. i mean the GIT is obviously a fake i mean how stupid can you be to not even spell it right lol... smart crooks would have just taken the bottle and broke it down into 10 bottles and sold it.. people say its hard to get the sprayer back on it but its really not im sure they have the tools i mean if they can make fake bottles im sure they have a press machine that can seal the bottles back up or use a syringe..
LOL that funny...well i'm looking forward to hear about your himalaya. If you give a good review, I wonder if he will sell to me again, after I left him a negative feedback about his fake Creed?!?Originally Posted by chadmwgarrett

The Green Irish, well rather Frich, Tweed, I know is a fake and perfectly descibed on this site already, but now I'm worried about the Himalaya and the Millesime Imperial.
Is there any way to differential the real from the fake? I also have the boxes for both, this may be useful.
Please Help!
Thanks so much.
Welcome!
However, I think that "spot the fake creed" threads are getting a bit out of hand. The best way to avoid all such issues is to buy from official retailers like Neiman-Marcus and Saks, or etailers like scentiments.com or perfumebay.com

I suppose a good way would be to make a small sample of the juice that you get. Then send it to another member. Someone that has been around for a while and who has owned many bottles of the scent in question before. Then they may be able to tell you if it is the real stuff or not. Just a thought.

got my order from scentiments.. and everything is good to go... creed GIT is legit and my dolce is perfect.. Still waiting on the himalaya from bisys00 ..
I just got my Himalaya, GIT and SMW from Scentiments today. They're testers, so I would assume they're legit. They all have crappy sprayers (ie: leaky) but the action is heavy with the characteristic resistance when sprayed. They also have that acrid, antique metal Creed house note.
One thing, though. One of them has "Testeur not for sale" printed on it. The other has "Tester not for sale" printed on it. And the third has it engraved, with "tester" spelling. What's the deal here?
Also, my GIT has the name label on the front/face of the bottle and the word Milliseme is part of the glass moulding. I was not aware that GIT was a Milliseme fragrance. What's up here?
I assume Scentiments is legit, but their prices seem mighty low. And they may not know where they get their stuff from if Creed distributes so sparingly/exclusively.
Anybody?
One word: grey market (make that 2 words).Originally Posted by Echo777

The eBay seller, bisys00 with a 97.9% Positive eBay rating and 369 transactions, had the auction listing as:
"Green Irish Tweed 4oz Brand New but not sealed in box, not a tester"
The picture of the box on the eBay auction site is fuzzy enough not to be able to read "Green Irish Tweed" on the box, and the bottle and insert card are viewed outside the box itself but not readable either, but looked authentic to me. It may not be the actual item sent though.
I 'won' the item for $46.00 + $8.00 shipping for a total of $56.00, (suspicious in itself for such a low price) which was paid directly to the seller's Visa account, as the seller does not take PayPal. Also, the seller's 350+ buyer comments are blocked, and the seller requests the buyer deal directly with him/her for any problems, not posting a negative on eBay if dissatisfied with the deal.
After winning the item but before receiving it via 1st class mailing, I happened on this site and read about the Creed fakes being offered and how to spot them. When I received the item about 10 days after the auction ended I immediately opened the mailing and discovered it was
"Green Frick Tweed"
I opened the box but did not spray it. Smelled the cap which had obviously been pumped prior to my receiving it and it was lame. I re-packed it and put it in a mailer for return immediately. Probably it had been sent back to the seller many times ad bogus juice by others before I won it. IMO this seller should know he/she is attempting to sell bogus stuff due to returns and the item box itself being bogus, and using the cloaking of no negative reviews available to see on his eBay history, may continue to do so and will until stopped.
I contacted the seller within 24 hours of receipt and advised him/her of the counterfeit item sent and was told to return it for credit. I sent it insured/return receipt to the tune of $8+ more dollars. We will see what is credited back to my Visa if anything.
I am going to formally protest to eBay about bisys00 and also send all info to Creed Millesime for possible action on their part. Time to stop all this deceit etc.
Hope this adds to the overall knowledge on the site and others wont be taken.
Great post! Very well presented research. I hope you work in an anlytical field because you are very good at it.
As for Creed, well, I own about 10 of their fragrances and I don't think any of them have ever been packaged in exactly the same way. Granted all have been bought from discounters and I've never paid retail but you'd think there would be alot more consistency in the packaging.
My latest purchase was a 2.5 oz bottle of ACIER ALUMINIUM. It is the first time I received a Creed box that was shrink wrapped. The box has no date. I've gotten quite a few of the Arabic inserts in the past but this one was 100% German. The only place the bottle indicates the name of the fragrance is the transparent plastic label stuck to the bottom of the bottle.
It all seems quite "odd" but again, they've all been odd.
Happily, here the juice seems genuine.
I hate that is becoming such a crapshoot to buy a genuine product from this house. Someday I'd like to buy the 8 oz size of this fragrance but unless Mr. Creed pours it himself and hands it to me, I'm not sure I'd ever be comfortable to indulge.
Thanks again for doing the research and taking the time to share it!
Bisys00 received my timely return of the counterfeit Creed Green Irish Tweed, and promptly credited my VISA with $54.00 ($46.00 = $8.00 shipping). No problem there.Originally Posted by kbe
I left negative feedback on eBay for Bisys00 (for sending me "Green Frich Tweed" when it was advertised as "Green Irish Tweed") who the same day filed a 'non-payment' complaint against me with eBay and indicated via eBay email that he/she posted negative eBay feedback for me:
----------------------------------------------------------------
"I'll be willing to remove the negative feedback I gave you if you want otherwise you can enjoy the first negative feedback on your account."
----------------------------------------------------------------
Unfortunely for Bisys00 I have documented my timely VISA payment, charged to my Visa account, to him/her, the USPS tracking/receipt of return of item, in original packaging/mailer and have no plans to drop this matter. I note other negative feedbacks left by other eBay members are almost immediately countered by a negative feedback by Bisys00.
Interesting.
Son of a b*tch. I have had my bottle of GIT for almost 8 months now. I'm nearly convinced it's a fake. I started worrying when I read reviews saying that GIT was a long lasting scent. on me, it lasts about one and a half hours. Tops. I'm not sure who I got it from, but the box it came in (Which I threw away) was suspect. Flimsy, water damage, and a leaky bottle should have flagged my concern, but I brushed it off... it IS eBay. My bottle has the short cap, incomplete painting job, poor painting job with imperfections rampant on the back. Damn.
I'm not really sure if my GIT is fake or not, what do you guys think?
It has the arrabic insert, also on the front of the box the embossed gold trim around the green middle section and the embossed creed logo above it are both in white instead of gold. Also on the bottom of the box it has computer printed of some sort "Toilet Water PGS C1PO5". Plus it does not have the text "ET DE L'EMPEREUR NOCOLAS II RUSSIE" on the top of the box. Or the 2 creed logos either side on the top, just smaller embossed creed logos like the rest. Otherwise the box and bottle are both perfect with no spelling mistakes or any of the other clear signs of fakes shown in this thread. It seems like it could be fake but I dont know.
I Purchased from harvey63 on ebay who has 8700 100% positive feedback, which makes me trust him but maybe I shouldn't.

Spotted something about the fake from the following image from the original post - h ttp://img222.imageshack.us/my.php?image=dsc00935ff5.jpg
On the top of the box it only has - "ET DE L'IMPERATRICE SISSI D'AUTRICHE-HONGRIE"
instead of
"DE L'IMPERATRICE SISS D'AUTRICHE-HONGRIE
ET DE L'EMPEREUR NICOLAS II DE RUSSIE"

It was the only cologne listed by him/her. It has all the Arabic writing etc and is 100% authentic Creed Green Irish Tweed IMO , as it smells almost exactly as a verified decant I purchased from Joel_Cairo of Basenotes in the Marketplace section of Community. It is intense, long lasting, smells wonderful at first application and through the middle phases and into drydown. The bottle has the classic Creed described 'slow and long' pumping action. I guess I just got lucky on that one.

It all just seems really quite strange to me. I also purchased Himalaya off Harvey which seems to be without a doubt 100% authentic. He's used the same wholesaler for 4 years with no problems so I don't see why he would suddenly have a fake but why all the inconsistencies with the packaging of the GITs flying about????

He might have gotten a fake from the wholesaler, and didn't realize it, if it was sealed?
I've seen a couple really good fakes too... bottle good, box good, everything else is good, but the cap in the sprayer is obviously a fake. Anyone can get had.
does creed always print the fleur de lis on the front of the box above the rounded rectangle in a metallic ink? either silver or gold?
And is the rounded rectangle bordered in a thick border of silver or gold ink?
gets curiouser and curiouser

Ordered a bottle of Imperial from Fragrancenet. Seems legit but OLD. The colour has worn of in some places and they even used some golden tape to cover it up in places. Also the datestamps on the box are carved of...
There where no insert...arabic,english,french or whatever....
It says HP1 on the bottom instead of HP2 as it did on chadmwgarrets bottle. Maybe its from the first batch from `95..
I saw someone wrote that the thing in the middle of the cap is supposed to be metallic?? Mine is plastic....

Whent to a store selling genuine Creed to have a look. Seems my bottle from Fragrancenet was genuine but OLD. Old tester or something. Realised that its supposed to be a "lotnumber" under the tape where the paint was gone.
So one more thing to spot the real from the fakes: Lotnr on the back near the bottom. The box has a sticker with lotnr too.
Imperial was out of stock so I couldnt compare the smell but everything on the bottles/packing seemed identical except Fragrancenet has removed all traces of its age....
By the way. Creed is very cheep here in Sweden. Only $220 for 2,5oz.
Got a bottle of SMW.....
I dont know if I have a fake or not. Some of the writing matches up with the real thing, then some does not. There is not gold bar along the front of the box. The little creed logos on the box are pretty visible and stand out. The actual bottle is all black, even the cap. The cap is a shiny black. The sprayers ia black and long with a the creed logo on top of it. The inside the package came a picture of james and oliver creed along with a long arabic thing. Is this a fake or not?

Man, its just funny how paranoid us creed lovers can be! I share everyone's concern, though honestly i can't say I have been burned. Usually, now i go through parfumsraffy.com ( I wonder why it hasn't been mentioned. Do basenoters have a problem with these guys?) They are a certified Creed dealer. As implied above, if you try to cut down on your cost you always run the risk of fraudelence. Some of you seem to be on a different level in regards to the analysis of the packaging, etc. of your Creeds. I love Creeds as much as anyone else, my only clause would be that packaging can vary depending upon the production cycle/year of the bottle. A Certain year of Creed will have distinctive box qualities that the next year will not. Also, GIT for instance will be packaged differently in the same year depending upon which market it is designed to be sold in (whole salers are indescriminate in purchasing these and sell them everywhere, which might help account for the discrepencies in different regions). My bottom line is to buy samples from an AUTHORIZED dealer, know the scent, and you'll recognize instantly when the shit is fake. But you guys seem to be beyond me, so I humbly withdraw.

I am now having issues with my new Silver Mountain Water...I made another topic, so if anyone could lend a hand with my dilemna (I feel it warrants its own topic), I would very much appreciate it.
well guys I don't think if the box has some Arabic language means it's fake.. I'm from kuwait (Middle East) .. 4 fl.oz of Creeds are sold here for 27 KD ($90) .. I don't know why they are cheaper than the U.S
My Green Irish Tweed 4 oz came in a box with Arabic on several places and is as authentic as Miss Fogarty's famous Cake. 100% real.

I just got a fake SMW off ebay, bought before I was a member here and knew better. The "about creed" attachment thats in the box was only in arabic and no other languages, from what I here thats a warning sign of a fake. Also the bottle is of poor worksmanship. I contacted the seller and he told me to prove it was a fake, then I contacted ebay and they told me it was between the seller and I. So I emailed Creed with pictures and they said they would forward it to their legal department. Sucks.

I just came across this thread today, after placing an order for GIT and Original Vetiver on 1stperfume.com.
Reading this thread, and the one about NOT buying from 1stperfume made me feel rather antsy. Double whammy: there are tons of fake Creeds being sold on the internet, and I chose to order mine from the site with the worst reputation.
I promptly hopped in my car, drove all the way to Neiman Marcus (45 min), and purchased the same bottles I'm expecting in the mail -- for more than DOUBLE the price.
As soon as the 1stperfume package gets here, it's getting promptly "returned to sender."
That shows what people are willing to do for the sake of authenticity. I didn't care if I was paying double the price, just to be sure I got the real deal.
That being said, after coming home with my happy "authentic" Creed boxes, I went to Scentiments.com to check their offerings, and I noticed that their picture of the GIT box does NOT have the thick gold border around the name (mine does). There is a post in this thread that shows a picture of what the real box looks like.
So how can anybody feel safe ordering ANY perfumes online? I'm tempted by the discounted rates, but wouldn't you rather have the real deal for more money than squander a tidy sum on a fake?
I just ordered GIT from scentiments and mine has the thick gold border. Scentiments has always given me legit stuff! I have a bottle from Neiman, and one from Scentiments, and they both smell the exact same. By the way, good call returning stuff back to 1stperfume, they rip people off hardcore.!

I'm looking at my box for 2.5 oz. GIT, which I bought from Scentiments-- yes, it does have the gold ring around the name. It's the real deal. I've bought a bunch of Creeds from Scentiments, and I can tell you they're the real thing. The one Creed I paid retail for was Virgin Island Water (love the scent, but paying that much was stupid). I've compared the box/packaging with all my other Creeds, and yes they are all real. Besides, when I went to Neiman Marcus, I sniffed all the testers of Creeds which I owned-- they smelled the same as the ones I have. The only one that was slightly different was Tabarome Millesime, which varies a little--the Neimans tester seemed to have more ginger, while mine has a bit more bergamot.
I can't speak for all internet retailers, but I can vouch for Scentiments. They're most definitely not fakes.
My bad, the site I checked was Perfume.com, not Scentiments.
I just ordered a Creed from FragranceNet.com. Any feedback on their track record with Creed's? I've never had a problem with other brands I've ordered from them in the past.
This is such a helpful thread. This thread deserves be a sticky, IMHO.
