man. when is someone going to get to the bottom of this?
in all honesty this is the best source of information about fake/real creed i've found (basenotes).. but even still there is so much questionable stuff going on with creeds and so little concrete info from the source that it is disgusting.
why can't they standardize everything and inform the people who buy their products what is what??? jesus christ.
i am returning a 'Green Frich Tweed' i bought off of ebay today in belief that it is utterly counterfeit based on my readings here as well as a simple observation of the box and bottle not being identicle to the creeds i've seen at neiman marcus. also the smell leaking from the sprayer is not git as i know it. the small foldout paper inside the box written in arabic is present and adds a layer of confusion as people try to make claims of middle eastern bound stock of creed that has been redirected to the grey market in america.. if this does indeed happen that middle eastern bound products are completely inferior in terms of packaging and product or not we should know definetively from creed. where is the truth about this 'arabic' stock?? the small line of supposedly arabic looking writing on the bottom back of the boxes is another confusing issue for me.. more on that later.
i have purchased a himalaya from a local discount store that seems legit but it obviously grey market as it has at least 4 silver stickers covering info on the box that was scratched off. and the bottom back of the bottle was also scratched and stickered next to the 'Lot:" marking. the 'arabic writing' on the bottom back of the box was also removed. so if this is supposedly the arabic market stuff i can see a HUGE difference between this and the 'Green Frich Tweed' and I believe that this bottle is at least real in origin. small oberservations of the bottles exact shape and finish and the kidney bean crease and wording on the bottom of the bottle as well as the sprayer and cap and the box itself set it apart from the 'Frich' product. It would make more sense to me that creed would indeed sell this exact himalaya product in the middle east.. as it is not as terrible as the ebay's 'Frich Tweed'
after coming here i found scentiments and ordered silver mountain water, royal scottish lavender, and bois du portugal. the rsl and bdp both have lot numbers intact and are '05 and '07 ending. i cannot find a flaw with these two 2.5oz bottles. one observation does indeed show that the words on the bottom of the royal scottish lavender have been spelled with 'scottisch' like one other post i found here pointed out. this makes the 'Frich' spelling seem less problematic, however there is sooo much more wrong with the 'Frich' bottle than the box spelling. these 2.5oz bottles from scentiments were not that heavily discounted however. the silver mountain water bottle (which was a 4.0 non-tester) i have observed that there is no lot number on box or bottle and no signs of removal as with the himalaya. there is some misleading talk about what the lot numbers really mean and the means by which they are stamped on the bottles/boxes. one person says that the lot numbers are only added to bottles that are still in the house of creeds possession that were made in a prior year and have not been shipped yet. but this is foolishness as bottles sent out during the same year they were supposedly bottled would have no lot numbers present.. leaving them vulnerable to being stocked somewhere to degrade after the house of creeds possession of the bottle has ended. other than no lot numbers.. the bottle looks perfectly real except a very small difference i have noticed with the sprayer. not that it is 'shorter' or 'skinnier' like the completely different 'Frich Tweed' spray mechanism.. the only thing is with the way the creed logo is stamped into the top of the spray mechanism. it doesn't look the same as the other bottles as it doesn't indent down in the middle and the word creed itself is just different is the only way to describe it. all 3 bottles from scentiments have the now familiar 'arabic writing' on the bottom back of the boxes, however they have foldouts in the box in 4 languages instead of in only arabic.
i understand that the best thing to do is to just go to neiman marcus and check for lot numbers even still.. however it still seems that this incessant back and forth about what is going on with interenet and discount sourced creeds and how you can tell what is what and what should be is appalling.
i am one who wants to know what is going on exactly..
amidst 100% counterfeits, grey-market bottles from the middle east, grey market bottles from distributors who cannot follow creeds rules but wish to keep aquiring product, old bottles, and my own belief that there is likely a system of tampering bottles by refilling them from larger flacons (and possibly flacons that are old or turned as well) and reselling or by refilling bottles with cool water or paco xs or watering down or whatever they decide to try to do to make more $.. i am just so baffled that there is no info from creed about this to date and even more appalling is that there is no planned standardization of bottling and packaging and lot numbers for future peace of mind, even for the people who buy from neimans or raffys like creed wishes for you to do.. you all must demand a better system that is more foolproof and more importantly transparent.
/end rant.

)I'll give it a couple more days to see how it wears on my skin, but the different details on the box and the bottle are intriguing to say the least. I as thinking that it may be a reject, didn't pass the Quality Control Check, but too many faults.I have also emailed Creed's website in uk.I'll let you know how it goes.
