Asking on a forum for the best winter scent is of no use. As I've said a million times before one person's favourite scent in the world makes another person want to be sick. A prime example of this is A*Men, those who like it, like it a lot. Those who dislike A*Men usually despise it.

Gucci PH, Kouros, Geir - all very highly regarded on here - I don't like them.

JPG Le Male - 95% of people on here bash the shit out of it - one of my favourites.

When I first came on here and decided to go out and pick up a few bottles, I made a list of some that seemed to be reccomended by quite a few people on here. Then I went over to the department stores and tried to test out as many as I can to see which impressed me. I'd suggest you try something like that. There are no "best" fragrances, it's a very, very subjective thing.

Winter scents usually fall into these categories

-Sweet, foody aka gourmand (ie chocolate, vanilla, caramel, etc)
-Woody (cedar and sandalwood are very common) I find that woody scents, unless very very heavy, can be worn all year.
    -Leathery
    -Spicy

Each of the categories above can be mixed in countless ways, but scents that feature those elements more than any others would usually be called winter frags around here.

Also, the mere presence of those types of notes in a frag do not automatically make it winter. Some of those elements can be blended with fresher notes and the resulting would still be considered fresh overall. Really, it comes down to the interpretation of the wearer. Many say Geir is suited to warmer weather, but I find it sweeter than...(drumrole)... "Pi"! :bounce:

There are many winter scents. Trying searching for some threads on this subject. Some suggestions I can give
Burberry Brit- My SOTD. Very re-fined and sharp.
Obsession- A powerhouse. Both sweet and spicy.
Azzaro Visit- Pure woods. Cedar wood
M7- I love that note of agarwood
    Rive Gauche- An upscale Brut.

Necessarily, asking such a question will generate a great many responses and as another poster wrote, it's a very, very subjective issue. That said, LiveJazz and AceHimself have the best answers, I believe.

Oh yeah, that and I like Envy as a Winter frag.

Something dark, heavy, etc...Although fresh aquatics can be a nice change of pace in winter with their bright and crisp auras.

But as for naming names, here we go:

    M7
    Gucci Envy
    Ungaro III
    Rive Gauche
    Angel Men
    Rocabar

These are great, but don't limit yourself to these. Go with what ya like.

L'Homme Sage is absolutely stunning winter scent. Somehow reminds me of reading a good book in front of fireplace.

Winter scents tend to be the more spicy, woody, and sweet variety that would give off a sense of warmth, coziness, etc.

Here are a few that I enjoy:

Chanel Pour Monsieur (a classic. Definitely check this one out.)
Burberry London (the new one. This one's fantastic. Spicy with tobacco, boozy notes, and woods)
Opium Pour Homme, YSL (Spice and vanilla bomb! It's amazing in the cooler weather)

I don't exactly want to post too many because I would rather you go out and discover some on your own. Hopefully I've pointed you in the right direction

L'Homme Sage is great for weekend wear during winter, especially in the evening. I've been wearing it today; very warm and comforting!
