10th Anniversary of this thread...here goes my new list...
1. Creed Green Irish Tweed
2. Polo Green (vintage)
3. Kouros (vintage 1985)
4. Tom Ford Italian Cypress
5. TIE - Dolce & Gabbana Pour Homme (Italian) and Dior Homme (silver stem vintage)
I love the smell of Bleu de Chanel (EDT AND EDP), but the poor performance of both knocks it down a few places. Also an honorable mention to MFK Pluriel Masculin. Love that juice.
My list:
Gengis Khan
Siecle
Balafre
Gatsby
Clive Christian No.1 Pure Parfum Concentrated Limited

Nice to read through the old post. Seeing different fragrances mentioned instead of the usual predictable ones.
All yr round- Xerjoff 1861 renaissance
Summer signature- le labo bergamonte 22
fall signature- tom ford oud wood
nightout- by kilian b2b
going out- Creed Aventus
Millésime Impérial
Green Irish Tweed
Silver Mountain Water
Tuscan Leather
I can't choose a fifth. So I'll make do with four as I know they are definitive choices. As my fifth I had considered Erolfa, Sel Marin, Noir de Noir, AdP and many others. Countless designers too. I'd make do with four. Leave the one space blank so its always there.![]()

At this moment in time:
Tom Ford: Vert Boheme
Amouage: Jubilation XXV
Bond: West Side
Bond: Scent of Peace For Him
Dior: Homme
Not the most constant and predictable personal ranking, but while some all time favorites remain, at least another one was added (in this case, most likely the Penhaligons scent from this personal list) as follows:
Armani Eau pour Homme
Knize Ten
Creed BDP
Sartorial
Hermes Rocabar
Fun bump, Chuck. I would love to see these 2006-era posters back!
Egoiste is like a holy grail scent for me, with Antaeus, Fahrenheit, Chanel Pour Monsieur, and Patou Pour Homme rounding out my top-five favorites.
My goodness. You all are throwing down the gauntlet on some heavy hitters. Taking no prisoners! I think Kouros is the only one I don't connect with, but, regardless of any past transgressions of me trying to put it on a leash, I do respect it.
I've tried a couple times and I can't commit to holy grail on anything at the moment. Especially since I've gotten on this vintage kick all the sudden. I love all my children equally???
(vintage):
- Dolce & Gabbana: Pour Homme
- Guerlain: Vetiver
- MPG: Santal Noble
- Knize Ten
- Kouros
My Top '11' : (In no particular order)
- Dolce & Gabbana: Pour Homme (vtg)
- Paco Rabanne: pour homme (vtg)
- Armani: Acqua di Gio Profumo
- Davidoff: Leather Blend Edp
- Rasasi: Al Wisam Day
- Dior: Fahrenheit (vtg)
- YSL: Kouros (Fraîcheur)
- Mancera: Cedrat Boise
- MPG: Santal Noble
- Knize Ten
- Amouage: Interlude
As of today:
Antaeus Vintage
Rive Gauche PH Vintage
Jubilation XXV
Lubin Idole
Moschino PH
Lauder Men Vintage
