This is a Pooh day (like in Winnie the Pooh) , so I thought: HONEY!
SL's Miel de Bois for me. After all this time I think I am beginning to appreciate this one. Maybe the sample had to mature a bit?

    Notes taken from OzMoz:

Top note : Ebony, Gaiac Wood, Oak Wood
Middle note : White Honey Ether
Base note : Beeswax, Animal Notes, Iris, Hawthorn

Hi Riannon, I had a very good time and visited the spa twice. I ended up bringing Champs-Elysees and a few other testers. Guess what, I fell in love with JPG's Le Male at the airport...

Welcome back Coconut! Last night I was testing Ayala's fragrances and fell in love with Palace Atena, although right now I am smelling of something different: all 7 of them resulted collectively in smelling like Gucci EDP's drydown! I will take a bath and put something else on for a long day at work!

Feel better, Kewart. I'll burn incense for you! :bounce: And welcome home Coconut!!

I'm in sample Heaven and don't know where to start! So began the day with Hazelnut coffee from Hawaii and Balmain's Ivoire. BN Directory:Top: Green notes; Galbanum, Bergamot, Lemon, Aldehydes; Middle: Muguet, Rose, Hyacinth, Jasmin, Carnation, Orris, Orchid Base: Cedar, Musk, Oakmoss, Amber, Raspberry, Sandalwood.

As often happens, first impression is in the base - lots of carnation and amber. Reviews here talk of greeny florals and I'm patiently waiting....oooh...here comes the roses!!

May take - like - Madame Rochas, to work at the flower shop and see what happens.

Um - did someone mention Lunch!!!! Bears are such a glory!!!

I too am in sample Heaven. Yay for Luscious Cargo!
Tried Premier Figuier last night. It was fantastic, and settled my stomach after nausea induced by Or Noir. Unfortunately, it has little sillage and no (I mean ZERO) staying power. Weep. I love the scent.
This morning before shower it is Calypso Christiane Celle Figue with a cup of strong coffee (and a cigarette) while BF slumbers, unaware of my evil ways and lack of will power.
After the shower I may try on the Bonds that I recieved.

Royal Secret, one of those inexpensive but surprisingly good things you find now and then. Its an Oriental with a woody myrrh base, like a sweet version of one of the resin notes in Vol de Nuit. Not much staying power, but nice for the price. Like Tabu, it's not for name-dropping snobs, but I never care for pretense.

Isn't that stuff pretty by all conventional measures, yet innovative, too?

Put on Stella Rose Absolute cuz it makes DH happy. I like the drydown portion.

Count me in, ladies, I have also enjoyed the sample of Royal Secret and even made a Teaser about it!

Today I am wearing Tova Nirvana, with nutmeg, rose, freesia and patchouli. By mood and not by notes, it reminds me of Chopard Madness.

And believe it or not, I am thinking of coming home and putting some L'Air du Temps on, windy today.

I went back to work today after 2 days home with a miserable cold/sore throat. I know it's too late for most of you to read this, but I just had to post a shout out to energizer bunny scent Chanel No. 19 EDT, still going strong 15 hours after I sprayed it on -- still completely sniffable despite my entirely stuffed nose -- now that's amazing quality!

I'll definitely have to check out Royal Secret through -- sounds yummy.

I also went for Chanel No. 19 today. I must be having a good scent week, because I'm noticing new notes in everything. I got lots and lots of iris from No. 19, when normally I can only smell greens and vetiver. I picked up Fracas this evening, after a mid-week sampling spree.

    emfoley, I read it!

I tested The Unicorn Spell today. It's a lovely watercolor of a fragrance, not too mish-mashy (a la goat burp, if any recall.) It's quite a departure for me, as I usually go for more girly sweet scents. I like it, and for once, I'm more pleased with the dry down than the top. Now, it's about six hours on me, and it smells fresh and cool, lightly floral and still soft green. I can't help wishing it could spray on this from the get go!

The real question....what's the bottle look like?

    Later_--

I decided Unicorn had a soapy, though not unpleasant, drydown in the final stages. And then I sniffed it again in bed and it was earthy. I was taked aback and it woke me up, darn it. So I thought I'd edit this post to vent my...I dunno...my intrigue I guess. I don't even know if I like it or not.
