I just recently tried some of the private collection.
Wow, they are really good. Sadly, I cant remember the name of the one that was my favorite

Coze 02 is simply fantastic. Dark brooding woods. Cannabis seeds; chocolate and pepper. Moody and exciting. And they do send samples if you email them.

I also quite like the Iris one. But Coze is a masterpiece, at least as far as frags suitable for men are concerned.

I sampled Cuir Venenum, L'eau rare Matale, Harmatan Noir, and Iris Taizo and none impressed me very much.

I purchased the mini-set of the second part of the line (10-16) and traded them away within 2 weeks...

Cedre Sandaraque (warm, spicy, woody) and Corps et Ames (cool, a bit soapy, ultra-dry) are winners to me.
Bois Copaiba reminds me very much of Intrigant Patchouli. Querelle is a nice Vetiver, unusually subtle for a PG and nothing special.
I didn't try Tubereuse Couture yet, I think they'll launch it in early 2007?

Darn! I'm always on the look-out for interesting rose-based scents...thought this one sounded promising.

I liked Cuir Venenum: sort of a creamy leather with a slight musk. Like being curled up on an old leather sofa with a cashmere throw and a glass of hot milk.

I really liked Aomassai: starts off with Lutens-like in-your-face sweet caramelly hit, but becomes woody and spicier almost immediately.

Iris Taizo is nice, incensey iris. Iris doesn't really work for me though, so personally I'd pass on this one.

I haven't tried the rest, but I am going to.

Sorry for an out-of-topic reply. PAESTUM ROSE is one of the best rose-based scents I have tried. Just wait for the dry down.

LOVED Iris Taizo, it's one of those fragrances that invokes those deep feelings of comfort for me. Would I buy it? No. Would I buy it for my wife/girlfriend? Two bottles.

I thought there were 11 private collection scents?
They all look like they are just numbered scents and not names...
Why are there 11 different numbers listed on the site?
    Anyone know?
    Thanks.
by the way, I own 2-16 and really like them all with maybe the exception of
    PG-06 - L'EAU RARE MATALE...I enjoy the 11 Hyperessence Matale a bit better.

Its on my to-try-list...not so easy to get to in Canada though...but I'm sure we'll cross paths at some point.
