A jasmine fragrance - thankfully, the honey, clove and musk note stay in the background but add subtle depth to the fragrance. The core emphasis is on the high quality jasmine note and if you like jasmine, this is one to try.

    Guerlain Nuit d'Amour

Notes include lychee, pink berries, rose, jasmine, iris, violet, musk, sandalwood according to one source. Notes include pink pepper, aldehydes, litchi, may rose, iris, sandalwood and powdery notes according to another.

Nuit d'Amour is the latest creation by Jean Paul Guerlain. The perfume was inspired by the nose's fascination for a painting by Gustav Klimt called "Woman With Hat and Feather Boa".

My SOTD is Eau d'Hermes. Try as I might I just cannot seem to bond with this scent, one that so many others adore. I'm afraid that it's going to have to get swapped.

Today is cold, grey, and potentially depressing here in New England, so - for a lift - I'm wearing the more affordable of my two great loves in perfumery: Patricia de Nicolai's New York.

I went with Knize Ten today. We are now in the frigid, gloomy depths of winter up here in MN, so it looks like I'll be wearing 'warm' scents from here on out. Winter's a double-edged sword, I guess.

Armani Mania, for the first time in ages.

Connotations of my ex (she bought it for me) straight away, but I love it nonetheless. It's fresh, without discernibly fresh notes, and I especially live the saffron/moss. It usually averages a fair bit longer on my skin; maybe putting in on straight after my shower had something to do with it.

Will probably put something else on for going out tonight - not sure what, though.
