Question L'Artisan Parfumeur Bottle Redesigned Again?

Well, not exactly the bottle but the cap. Here is a sample image from Barneys:

The bottle, too. It is now heptagonal, used to be octagonal.

    merci artisan!!

Anything would have been an improvement but this is a substantial improvement (some of you may recall I have ragged on the "poufy" artisan flacons in the past!!!) and kind of nice that they can retain something of the identity of the awful original, in a way...

Where do we turn in our old bottles for the new? I assume there will be recall?

i like the new cap better, but it's pretty generic/modernish looking. in my mind the old bottle will be the "real" bottle.

Woohoo! My bottles/caps just became classics I have a 50ml VdR and a 100ml Vetiver with the "real" caps. Actually, I like the old caps. They're simple, elegant, and fit well. That new cap looks cheap.

    The old ones were better.

The new ones look like hexagon screws:

I'm a big fan of the old ones. Pretty soon we'll have the "vintage" bottles and we can talk about how we bought them back when L'Artisan had the nice bottles...

I still like them just not as much. I will live though... the juice is still amazing.

    What's the big deal!!!
The new caps are heavier, more solid, and display the juice better.

actually looking at the new caps again I'm not exactly in ecstacies. maybe the bottle is still bascially hideous

I really like the new bottle...feels chunkier and more substantial. Compliments their oft delicate scents.

Both are equally 'OK' bottles, not bad, not particularly stunning either. I think the old one is slightly better for the given company though, not too modern looking. For me the important thing here would be, that all of my bottles are similar. That's why this kind of bugs me.

Is it normal that my 100ml bottle of Fou d'absinthe has a heptagonal cap that seems to be quite loose (not tight)?
There isn't any click when I put the cap on the bottle, the bottle would fall if I only hold it by the cap.
    Normal or not?
    Thanks!

The L'Artisan caps I have all are fitted with a nylon inner seal that fits inside the metal cap. The nylon fitting is designed to be snug and snap over a small ridge on the bottle neck. The cap is snug, but it is not uncommon for these caps to be loose enough so that the bottle slips out if picking it up by the cap. If your cap doesn't have the nylon inner sleeve then it is missing this part which will help it fit tighter. I have no idea how you could get a part like that if you are missing it. You might ask on basenotes "fragrances wanted" section for any empty L'Artisan bottles which you could salvage that part from.

    Thank you.
My bottle has the nylon inside the cap.
When holding the bottle upside down, the cap won't fall.
But the bottle will fall if I hold it by the cap.
I guess it is what you call "artisanal".
