    Default Dior Homme

my brother is currently in Las Vegas for a spontaneous urge to visit his friend...
along with this he visited the Dior Homme store at the Wynn....(he loves the clothes)
he, being a non-fragrance person, tested Dior Homme and fell in love with it...and said "you have to buy this!"....(the store clerk said that this is the only dior store that carries it now and the local nordstroms might have it....in america at least...)
it's $60 for the 3.4 oz ... only about $10-15 more than average ebay price...
since he will gift box it for me....i guess it's now worth it...

    and

since i am or was extremely intimidated by the 3 colognes...he tested it for me
he said they were too classic and old (sorry to the dior cologne lovers)
    he said :
    cologne blance - herbaceous
bois d'argent - sweet but eh...(i might get this for when i'm 30 and working)
eau noire - just too old for him and I....(the person who will use it...0

anyways....i wouldn't splurge now on these fanciness...
i jsut bught 3 scents...4 including DIOR HOMME!

    i'm content....

I just bought 4, swapped for 3, and made a promise to buy another. I'd still buy Bois D'Argent on the spot if I saw it. I'm 20....

I'm a young guy who happens to love the 3 Dior colognes, and i never found any of them to be old, they smell quite modern to me, though they were probably meant to be made as classics, but certainly dont smell like it to me. They are not groundbreaking, but certainly deviate from the typical releases of today, a few of them could even be mistaken as Lutens, they just smell really beautiful and comforting. No one ever told me i smelled old while wearing any of them, only very positive comments. Boid d'Argent is definitely the most popular one, while it is so awesome, i however prefer Eau Noire personally, i even dig the spicy medicinal opening, it's a true 'sex in a bottle' IMO, but all three are highly addictive, i wouldn't think twice to have all of them in my drobe, soon, very soon my friend.
But dont fall for the hypes and raves, have to warn you strongly about this issue.

    Best!

dior homme is beyond what i expected....really does smell like lipstick...but unique...i won't open the box ....YET

    my response to the colognes:

eau noire- too strong....very earthy and "dark green"....like terre d'hermes:clean soil...not my type

cologne blanche - ok...i would buy if i found $200 on the floor ...lush and powdery

BOIS D'ARGENT - heaven! where was this scent all along? I must save up to get at least the 4.2; sweet but not too sweet....well blended..."patchouli" if there are any; i can't smell (+)....the perfect scent!

    fundraiser perhaps?

    Yes. I noticed this too.

I was going to get MI and Himalaya but they were out of stock.

They're now back in at higher prices-but still reasonable.

I got Dior Homme about a week ago, and the first time I sprayed it,yeah it does smell like lipstick,I think the word "waxy" comes to mind. I didn't think much of it and my mom told me that it's too feminine. But it grew on me. Lo and behold, I just got complemented today, a 17 year old girl asked me what perfume I was wearing. I got the small bottle and it is going down fast!

I tried all 3 of these at Harrods and none really struck me. Maybe I was on scent overload at the time. The sticker shock may have put me off. I might add that Dior Homme is quite sublime and one of my favs. Was all over the department stores in England. Wish I would've bought the shower gel!

    Question Re: Dior Homme

I remember Dior Homme to be powdery in some sort of feminine way.

It was winter when I tested it though. Maybe it'd work different in spring or summer heat?
