I keep my perfumes in an old wooden hutch that my great, great grandfather made for his bride as a wedding present. He was not a professional furniture maker, but inspired by love, he turned out an heirloom that I treasure.

I don't know how to attach pictures to a post, but I have pictures in my album "Behind Closed Doors" in my public proflle.

    Thanks cello!

Pomander, I love your hutch. Very nice that it has at least two different sizes of shelves, so you have one for parfums, and others for FBs. I am going to need a different solution at some point because there are already some things that are fitting pretty awkwardly.

I'm ready to bite on some more FBs. I get a little gun-shy once it gets around the 100 dollar mark. But my decants of LADDM and Diorella are dwindling. Will probably also add one of the Poisons.

I hope more people post pictures, I love seeing them.

Quarry Is that your bathroom?? Forget the bottles, that bathroom is to DIE for! Love it. (The collection is nice, too, though)

And leads me to a question that you have probably answered in some other thread around here on storage, but can you explain that nifty storage you have on the tray holding your decants? What is that contraption? Ribbons? Elastic bands? I'm soooo intrigued and think I can make something similar work for me if only I know HOW you did that??!

Hi, chaplain ~ Thank you. I'm hopelessly in love with my home (quarryschool.com). We have been excrutiatingly faithful in its restoration, except for my powder room, which I wanted to turn into a girlie grotto (the boys' urinals used to be lined up against that wall you're looking at).

Here's a link to the thread about the tray strung with ribbons. Originally I wove the ribbon in a caning pattern, but needed more holes, so restrung it in a simple criss-cross pattern.

    Great collections!

Here's mine (or at least an attempt to post my first pix here)....I have my collection clumped in various parts of my bedroom. Some are unopened collectibles, some are sentimental keepsakes and the others are in or out of current seasonal rotation. Sorry for the mirrors....makes things hard to see in pictures (but prettier IRL):

Just a few years ago, seeing your collection, I really would have thought you were a "perfume nut," but since arriving in this alternate universe where scents make sense, I understand each bottle as an individual experience. Thanks for posting.

Wow, really enjoying seeing these lovely collections! Here's mine -- please excuse the bad photography...

I keep most of my collection in shelves on either side of the vanity in my closet.
First photo shows the piece of paper-covered cardboard that insets and protects the shelves from light. (Not the most elegant solution, but workable for now.)

Across from these shelves, I keep these bottles (and samples) that don't need light protection:

Jumpin' Jehosaphat, CRose, that's a mighty fine collection you have arranged there.
I love how you're enamored with handmade paper, and that it's your go-to tool.
Interesting that you segregated the Chanels. Would seem a need for mentally separating them. Is so?
Of course, there's always room for more somewhere.

Beautiful, pristine collection CRose! Interesting what Quarry observes about segregating the Chanels out. She is a keen observer! I love the little paper covered boxes for resting samples in. What sort of boxes are they, matchboxes or something else? I may copy your idea and cover some cardboard boxes with origami paper or some other kind of paper for samples and small decants. Or maybe Altoid or sardine tin multi media diorama sample holders (ok, looks like I have my winter project now). I get such enjoyment and inspiration looking at all these presentations. Perhaps one day I'll have mine in a more interesting array and I'll post new pics.

Mrs. Q, I'm sure the Chanels are segregated because most of them are exclusifs, and they can't be hanging around with just any ole bottle. Very snooty that way, I find. Mine do the same thing, all lined up in a row, peering over their noses at the others. I allow them their space, because there is just no arguing with them. They are exclusif

    CRose may have another reason

Thank you Cello! I'm enjoying the why-the-segregation theories... They're actually just in there because they look pretty there -- I rotate misc three-of-a-kinds through that bathroom, 3 Hermes, 3 Malles, etc. (hmmm, how DID no. 19 and eau premier get in there with the exclusifs? Little whippersnappers must have snuck in when I wasn't looking!)

Thanks for kind comments Quarry (Quarry, I love seeing in your collection that one little paper-covered decant!!) and Hillaire. Lilybelle, my sample holders are described on an old thread, along with various ingenious solutions (such as Quarry's, I think), I'll see if I can find it and append to this message.

I know what you mean about the PDT Teardrop! On my last vacation, I found Shalimar, Chamade (who is currently the subject of a renewed love affair for me!) and Jicky PDT. I have to say though, at the risk of sounding greedy, that I would LOVE to find Mitsouko PDT or L'Heure Bleue! A BNer sent me samples of each about 4 years ago, and I adored them!
I'll be sure to let you know if I come across more Shalimar PDT... I know only too well what it is like to be without a favorite scent!
