"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." I m so happy you all loved the pictures!

I can t wait to go to Paris just to visit "Les Salons"! the first time I went there was almost randomly in 1996 after reading a french fashion magazine article, french actress Isabelle Adjani talked about it and was said to have bought the the whole line in limited editions. Unfortunately back then my olfactory tastes were more basic, I was into Annick Goutal back then and I wasnt able to appreciate the scents.

I dont get the whole dragon thing...oh yea, Serge Lutens is owned by a japanese company.

And is that Madarine Madarin bell jar on page 2 fugly or what ...looks like a circus bell. I much prefer the standard lutens bottles.

The Chinese dragon is from the designers personal collection.
The bell jar is designed for Mandarine Mandarin and is a limited edition numbered to 30 specimens, @ 850

Oh god... that Mandarine Mandarin bell jar is just effing GORGEOUS...
850 euros? Yikes...Let's just hope that Serge doesn't come up with a Muscs Koublai Khan bottle that lovely, 'cos I might be tempted to sell a kidney to get it!

edit** oh gosh, it looks like he does 30 limited-edition bottles every Christmas...Well... I have an identical twin sister so I guess it would be highly irresponsible of me to dispose of a kidney on parfum, because if she ever needs one I've GOT to be able to pony up. Sigh. Maybe someday I'll have a rich paramour who'll buy one for me!

Thanks for the great pics. Awesome colors. Love that bell jar. I don't remember the dragon being there the last time I was there.

    Beautiful stuff.
