In the Netherlands, it's also freezing cold; winter has finally come.

    I wear Chanel No. 22.

Eau exquise, you smell exquisite! And happy, happy birthday Tovah! Hope you get many delicious-smelling somethings on your day.

Trying on a few of the L'Artisans both for fun and to be able to have some clue what my other faves might be (besides Poivre Piquant) for the boys' "favorite L'Artisan" poll. Today I'm wearing Dzonkha. Later it'll be Patchouli Patch.

    Have a fabulous Wednesday, everyone!

Today I'm in Molinard's Habanita. It is wearing less powdery on me today (that chemistry is a fascinating thing!) and I'm loving the warm leather. Muy sexy!

Guess who got a big, delicious package from Vijay of Maisonstinky, full of Montale samples, today?:bounce: :bounce:

So far I am wearing: Aoud Queen Roses on left wrist (beautiful, simple, refined roses - I'm not getting much Aoud), Sandflowers on right wrist (fresh marine, but not headache inducing ozone), Greyland on right knee (spicy woods, so far, a little sharp and sweaty), and Intense Tiare on left knee (pineapple - or some other tropical fruit and rich flowers.)
I tried some Aoud Cuir D'Arabie, as well, but the top notes tell me why Vijay's maison is stinky if this is what it smells like. It was very unpleasant at first. Extremely sour socks. It did settle down right away, but was too mild for my tastes. I'll give it another run, for sure, when I feel up to slathering it on and waiting out those scary top notes.
 Big thanks to Vijay for being such a generous enabler. You're great!

    AND

 Happy, happy birthday Tovah. Many sweet smelling returns!

Yes, Pellen, Vijay is the greatest!

Wearing Rochas Femme. Don't know why I wear Femme. I think I reach for it when I'm not in the mood for anything. Why do I wear Femme? Maybe it's like a reset button so I can go back to my regular rotation?

After wrestling with Shalimar last night, and realizing that I am a doomed woman in the House of Guerlain, I turn my back on that house entirely and choose
    Bois des Iles from Chanel.
I feel the need for the smooth sometimes aloof atmosphere of Chanel after having my insides turned out by Guerlain.
We must have some unsolved karma in a past life or something!

I may even venture into Hermes territory later and try 24 like purplebird.
    and last but not least....
    Happy Birthday Tovah!!!
"Like a lobster with a pearl in its claw, the beet held the jasmine firmly without crushing or obscuring it. Beet lifted jasmine, the way a bullnecked partner lifts a ballerina, and the pair came on stage on citron's fluty cue. As if jasmine were a collection of beautiful paintings, beet hung it in the galleries of the nose, insured it against fire or theft, threw a party to celebrate it. Citron mailed the invitations." Jitterbug Perfume by Tom Robbins p. 189
