Default Most worn in January 2007?

Since I'll stay in the scent I'm wearing today tomorrow, too, my first stats for 2007 are ready:

    4 Comme des Garçons EdP
3 Cèdre, Chypre Rouge, Encens et Lavande, Un Bois Vanille
2 Ambre Profond, Borneo 1834, Cuir Mauresque, Geisha Rouge, La Myrrhe, Miel de Bois, Muscs Koublaï Khan, Un Bois Sépia, Un Lys

Not surprisingly January was a big Serge Lutens month, the SL week gave me a good reason to revisit all the SL scents in my collection. I started to wear them exclusively on 10 January and there are still four scents waiting for their turn, so I'll start February with them.

But Comme des Garçons EdP was the most worn scent and Ex Voto Ambre Profond and Aroma M Geisha Rouge had their days, too.

What did you wear most in January 2007?

I had three repeaters this month: Ambre Sultan, Daim Blond, and Fumerie Turque. It was a Serge month for me, as well. It's very unusual that I didn't wear my beloved Angel twice this month.

I tried three new-to-me frags this month: Douce Amere, Cuir Ottoman, and Tam Dao. All three winners and now all three are on my lust-list!

Said to self, "Self," I said, "You gotta keep stats for the monthly census!" and of course Self didn't and is MUCH too lazy to go through threads and check and pleads lingering sypmtoms of sample-itis.

Lotta Lutens (Thank you LIB and Riannon) and Tabu (Thank you Moondeva) and Ava-Luxe.

Self will try to do better in the short month of February!!

I'm not sure. I've worn several each day for a while now, as I'm opting to use pre-shower, post-shower and bedtime fragrances.

If I had to guess, I'd say Femme, Nu and Tabu...because of the layering fun!

This month Lutens were in the biggest numbers with only Chergui 2x - Arabie, Daim Blond, Bois Vanille, Fleurs d'Oranger.

The only other two fragrances I wore twice this month are Lolita Lempicka and Ambre Passion. All others I wore only once each. Here comes the list:

First Love - Van Cleef & Arpels
    Gaultier²
    BLV
    Présence d'une femme
    Burberry Brit edp
    Black Cashmere
    M7

Just finishing up Jan (although I might have a hot bath later, wear a different scent and then screw everything up!)

Lots of one-off wearings but a few notable repeats:

4 – Montale Aoud Rose Petals, PdN Vanille Tonka
    3 – Aqaba
2 - NK Lavande, Asja, Montale Black Aoud, Montale Intense Tiare, Coco

Oddly I'm quite taken with Montale's Aoud Rose Petals. I'm usually not much of a "rose person." This one is bewitching though. What's more it reminds me of winter woolens wrapped up in moth balls with a beloved rose perfume leftover from last season. The last kicker is a faint whiff of chilly air right before it snows. This one is just so evocative for me!

I didn't keep track. Those of you that do, how do you do it?

Off the top of my head, my most worn were probably Flowerbomb Extreme, Angel Innocent, and Voleur de Roses - 2 or 3x each. Almost all the rest of the days I wore samples. I feel bad for neglecting my bottles... it's like once I own the bottle, I'm content just knowing its there, and meanwhile the unknown calls...

    My goals for next month:

    1. Don't buy anything, even samples.
    2. Enjoy what I have.
    3. Keep track of what I wear.

I just keep a notepad open on my desk top, one for each month. Each day I type in what I'm wearing at what general time of day (morning, afternoon, evening, night.) If I forget a day or two, I just go back and try to reconstruct what I wore. At the end of the month I tally it all up. It's been fun and informative. Been doing it since December 2005 and I've already given stuff away that I find I'm really not using. Lightens the load and makes room for more that I will wear!

I think some people use Excel or other data base programs too.

Wow, should I be keeping a scent diary or a white board with a tick each time I wear one from my wardrobe? I don't feel compelled to analyze my wardrobe choices this much. Remember Clueless, where she took polaroids of herself tops and bottoms, so she could mix and match outfits without trying a million things on? I always wanted to do this. I wish I had a cheat sheet so I could smell layering combos first before I made the mistake of spriting weird things on myself.

    Very simply:

Step 1) I write my SotD daily in my almanac/calender
Step 2) I have a list of all my scents on a Word document, and add necessary number after the scent once or twice a week
Step 3) At the end of the month I check out the highest numbers
Step 4) I post the results here

    Voilà!

I haven't got that far, at least not yet, but I agree, this is very informative.

It's especially funny to notice how the scents one loves most aren't necessarily the ones one wears most!

Yes- you're really right! There are some fragrances I don't wear often at all but would NEVER consider getting rid of them.

I have been finding out that some fragrances were just whims-of-the -moment though and while they are perfectly "nice" fragrances, they just don't move me or make me feel much of anything. Those are the ones that I'm finding pretty easy to let go of.

    5 times: Heure Exquise
    3 times: Mitsouko
    2: Fracas
    2: Nahema
2: Violetta de Parma layered with Le Dix
    The rest were one time:

Aimez moi, Anais Anais, Bandit, Chanel no. 5, Cinnabar, Doll Face (Ava Luxe), Enjoy and Etro Patchouly layered, Femme Rochas, Fidji, Heliotrope (Etro), Heliotrope (Etro) layered with Heure Bleue, Hiris, Incense Tibet (Ava Luxe), Ivoire, Mentafolia, Parfume Sacre, Safari, Sha, Shalimar, Tresor, Wild Blackberry Musk (Ava Luxe)

It is fun to do this not to mention informative.

I'm with Taolady and Silvergirl... Don't keep track and feel like I should!

Thanks to all who listed their methods for tracking. I will try to keep my list for February.

From memory, January was lots of Lutens for me as well (thanks to our Lutens week), and also a fair number of L'Artisans, Idole de Lubin, J.L. Scherrer 2 and a few different Hermes' and Carons thrown into the mix.

Yep, that kinda sounds like my January.

I don't keep a tally, but probably the most on a daily basis so far are combinations of these Jo Malones -
    Orange Blossom
    Nutmeg & Ginger
    Verbenas de Provence
    Pomegranate Noir
    Red Roses
    Tuberose
    Vintage Gardenia

I have used JM for most daily wear at work, but lateley I've needed an extra boost of confidence and a reminder of civilisation beyond the office walls, so I've branched out from early morning:

Les Nuits d'Hadrien by Annick Goutal (not for evenings only)
Passion, Annick Goutal (gone right off this)
    La Perla (new discovery)
    Narcisse Noir (bliss)
    Bellodgia (more bliss)
Tabac Blond (The Best - blissfully long lasting)
Noix Tuberose by Miller Harris (mixed feelings about this)
Terre d'Hermes (longlasting say the ads, but not on me)
Colonnia Assoluta, Acqua di Parma (with mixed feelings)

Sometimes I combine Nuits d'Hadrien and Orange Blossom by JM.

I have worn Madame Rochas twice and felt it to be too unsubtly smoky/dusty for me. I now realise what it reminds me of very strongly - Passion, by Annick Goutal. The drydowns are identical to my not very sophisticated nose, and I don't like either of them anymore. The same range can vary from the sublime to the unwearable, which is all part of the fascination of perfume.
