Very interesting! I wonder which other "drug store" scents started their journey at the high-end stores...

What web site did you get the image from, if i may ask?
Are you not entertained??? Is this not why you are here??

A lot of "drug store" scents started off as high-end merchandise. Brut was sold in the best stores as was Royal Copenhagen, Kanon, Jade East, Tabac. Women's fragrances such as Tabu, Ambush, and Chantilly were all sold in better quality department stores. However in many of these fragrances there has been a degradation in the quality of the formulae. In other words, cheaper chemicals have been substituted for the higher priced originals.

50's - 60's - women were also fine with men who wore aftershave only and Royal Copenhagen was probably a few rungs up the ladder from most aftershaves. and it was imported! risky

If females around you are partial to talcum powder, Royal Copenhagen (not the Musk version) is still the one to get.
