Default Love Mat;Very Male - Is Original Good Blind Buy?

I'm just going to stretch out the topic a bit with some background. M;VM has been heavy in my rotation lately, and I seem to be more addicted to it with each wearing! I was confident that I would snatch up the original "Male" on a trip to Sephora, only to find it has been phased out in favor of the new "Men". Having read the descriptions here, it seems like something I would really enjoy, but I haven't read any reviews connecting it accurately, at least to my nose, with VM. I have read some reviews that describe Male as a "light purple" smell and VM as a "dark purple" smell, but I don't perceive this color at all. Hmm. For those of you who have smelled both, do you think it would be a good choice to acquire blind based on my love of VM? Thanks.

Never smelled Mat;VM, but I love the original. If you like a bitter grapefruit smell, go for it. Watery (lotus flower) grapefruit is basically what M;M is.
